If you look at it from the games developers perspective this has very little to do with programming and more to do with enabling a feature in a config file.
Game developers seamed to have had the ability to enable this all along and they chose to ignore it. Its a pity.
I know, It makes me wonder why it wasn't enabled by Sony in the first place.

Community polls do nothing but to give the consumer the illusion that they are being listened to, especially in the case of Sony. They never prioritize with relation to demand and this is evident in the software division.
I bought a ps3 and psp at launch and I wont be buying a ps4 or psp2 at all. They are a company that talks up products and services which take bout 2-3 years to actually follow through on and provide.

I hate to be a pain but nowhere in the article linked from this n4g article did cliffy b say the ps3 had dismal potential.
He merely said that it could work on the ps3 but they are not allowed as there publisher(microsoft) wouldn't be too pleased.
I wonder whether they could get around that by offering it over psn as a download for the ps3 and not actually sell physical copies in retail stores :D
You have to remember there is a new generation of gamers that might have missed goldeneye, even so from the video it looks like they are doing an awesome job. It looks freaking sweet.
Saying that patching the game will not increase sales is wrong. With the lack of trophies available and the abundance of gamers that want trophies, for alot of them they might think twice about buying a game now that they wouldn't have before because it has trophies.
This of course wouldn't 100% shell over profit if every company back dated the support in. Thanks to infinity ward and insomniac, companies like Criterion will make a killing.
