The summary's statement that this could allow us to play copied games is NOT the reason I am interested (and pirates would be wise to downplay their self-interest in this area, as it decreases developer confidence in the platform). This INCREASES the likelihood that I'll buy a PS3 Slim and further support the ecosystem of PS3 hardware and software. I think many others share this view. Open systems = more reasons to buy. And if we 60GB PS3 owners ever get direct hardware support for Linux -- ...

This is an uncharacteristically shoddy demo from PD, I'd say. Surely I'm not the only one who's noticed the pauses at certain points around the track. The trees and tire squeal sound effects are no better than they were years ago in GTHD. And the shadows on or near the cars are downright ugly at times. Just look at the shadow on the license plate of the red car in the "walkpast" intro. I hope the final product has a lot more of the polish I've come to expect from Polyphony.

"The most gruesome demo ever"? Humanity is doomed.

Some of it is a bit circumstantial, but it certainly shines a light on some suspicous activity. I hope this spurs further investigation.

Although I certainly prefer the DLR era, this presentation is nothing short of disrespectful to the fans of Michael A and Sammy H. I suspect there must be some legal reason that made it impractical or impossible.

The tables look like they're covered in spunk, and the walls are all smeared with ????. It's a disgusting dump of a place. Seriously, I can't stand to look at the graphics.

Admittedly, drums are the one type of plastic instrument where you actually learn a bit about how the real instrument is played, but really, just drums, Activision? Really?

I'd like to see a fretless instrument with a ribbon controller, and that would open up a huge number of new gameplay options, all of which would actually teach you a bit about how to play a real instrument (Orch Hero!), and it might breathe a little new life into this stale genre, too. And make no mistake -...

Buy a proper screwdriver before trying to swap hard drives again. Jeez, don't you read the how-to articles before trying this stuff?
It is easy when you have the right equipment.

I dunno if the market wants Yet Another Game That Shoulda Been a DLC Pack ("Won't Get Fooled Again!"), but I have to give props to Keith Moon. That man sure was an inventive drummer. If The Who game includes a few of the more ambitious tracks from Quadrophenia, etc. (as opposed to focusing exclusively on the "poppier" hits), I might bite.

"Does the Xbox 360 version provide any features not found in the PS3 version?" If it turns out that the PS3 version doesn't support HD mode, as does the Xbox, I'll be pissed. It's already nonsensical that a high-end PC can't support HD streaming. And that line about the disc having to be in the PS3 being the "fastest and easiest way..." What a crock of $hite. Typical marketdroid BS.

and Sony's responding to it. These "buzz-worthy" augmented reality games and controllers (including Natal, Sphere, Eyepet, MotionPlus, etc.) are the current hotness, and they appeal to the family-with-younger-kids market in a way that a shoot-em-up just can't. Around the holiday season, it's a big market. And don't underestimate how many Xmas presents have to be approved by moms before they end up under the tree.

I would really like to have been a fly on the wall at the meeting where they decided that missing the Christmas selling season in the U.S. was somehow a good idea. This thing is simply the ideal Xmas present for families with younger kids. Sony is missing a "child-friendly" system seller opportunity here, and for what? What other new AAA games do they have coming out this Xmas that appeal to the same 6-to-9-year-old demographic? (LBP GOTY and.. ?) Do american parents not buy as many...

Perhap if somebody posted some statistics that people were switching to Xbox 360 just to get the superior selection of demos....(I have to admit, the Forza 3 demo and a couple of other recent Xbox demos have tempted me! Just a little.)

Climax action, indeed. I'm still not sure those specs are working for me, though.

Being a wildlife photographer is not boring if you enjoy getting (and sharing) the perfect shot. Indeed, getting attacked by zebras or hippos whle TRYING to get the pefect shot is pretty exciting, I'd say. (Pity you lose all the photos you've taken that day if this happens, of course.) Afrika's not for everyone, sure, but I really like it, especially at the higher levels, where you get to use kick-ass cameras, climb trees and get some of the more adventurous shots. Disagree if you must, this ...

I'd like to see more of this sort of media scrutiny on N4G. All too often these days, I see propaganda being re-twittered as fact. But I smelled something rotten in Denmark -- I mean IGN -- a long time ago, so this news doesn't particularly surprise me. What I'd really like to see is an expose of the kind of perks and "good review incentives" the A-list industry influencers and gaming sites get. They are substantial, I guarantee you.

Building on the left in the distance pops in a few secconds after the video http://www.youtube.com/watc... starts. I HATE pop-in. I really hope they fix that. Otherwise, it looks good (and that's a "classic" GT track, as any GT old-timer will know.)
