The Vita will actually look much better when you view it in person because its on a much smaller screen with a high pixel density. I bet it will look as good as Uncharted 2 by launch or at least Uncharted 1.5. The Vita is not as powerful as a PS3 but it can LOOK as good as a PS3 because it has a lower resolution and the devs probably won't have to use as much AA cause of the high pixel density.
The whole game isn't going to be like that. What they showed was a shortened level so all the grunts and screams are going to be much more spread apart in the actual game. I think Tomb Raider deserved it, the devs are doing a great job bringing Lara back and better than ever! Uncharted 3 looked awesome too, but they should give other devs recognition too for their hard work.

PS3 went an entire year without a price drop in 2010. That was the first time that ever happened.
This price drop should not be surprising.
PS3 was revealed in 2005, 5 years after the PS2 was introduced so I don't see why they wouldn't announce a new console for 2012.
I doubt this is true, this is just like how Sony would always deny a price cut in the past but then do a price cut.

I'm GLAD it isn't 3D. If it was 3D it would have terrible viewing angles which are very important in portables. Sure, you could turn it off, but then all you can think about is how much better the game could have looked if all that power being used for 3D wasn't wasted.
Not everything is better in 3D. I went to see Resident Evil 3D last week and the 3D was completely distracting and the whole movie seemed overly dark. It was much brighter when I took off the glasses. The worst part was that there was no 2D showing, probably because they make more on the 3D!

Yes your right, it was just the comment saying that the PS3 wasn't in need of "replacement" but the 360 does. I don't game on the 360 and even I know thats a big load of BS... 1 year difference.
The PS3 has 4 year old technology in it already. Developers are already starting to complain because they want to be able to do things like tessellations but they can't due to the outdated tech.
And in 5 years there will probably be 1440p in TV's, thats twice the resolution PS3's most popular exclusives are.

alot of people are still stuck in the analogue generation where the "quality" of the cable made a difference in the picture quality. HDMI is digital so you either get a picture or you don't, simple as that!
Its a shame seeing companys like Monster trying to make a profit off of first time hdtv buyers.
if it was 100% non invasive to the user (like it lets you install the game 20 times, didn't require you to be online etc)
its not that devs want DRM its cause people pirate PC games so dang much. i would love to see the face of somebody who who illegally downloads a game that has DRM that is uncrackable.
