I mean, first of all, they're talking about indie developers specifically, not those AAA studios. And secondly, Naughty Dog doesn't have a choice of platforms at all lmao
And if they do nothing, then the game can no longer be sold because Games for Windows - Live is broken.
Would you prefer that alternative?
From university, but solid attempt. This article isn't intended to be serious journalistic content, it's just a short news story about a director giving a subtle insult at a genre. If this is your first time seeing an informal phrase in a news story, you mustn't spend enough time on N4G.
It's probably a dig at Sony for the Uncharted or Last of Us movies, though, not film adaptations in general.
That's almost certainly what he's throwing shade at, though...
It's not talking about the Sonic movie, it's talking about video game film adaptations in general.
This is more of an interview than news, to be fair.
@IamTylerDurden1 "This score is out of line."
How is it out of line? It's the writer's opinion. They don't have to agree with the majority.
@rainslacker "bias is pretty damn apparent in your writers opinion pieces"
That's... what an opinion piece is. It's an opinion.
"The sites that [...] just relay news without some sort of stupid opinion attached to them"
That's what we do. Opinion pieces are very clearly marked as opinions. We do not include opinions within news articles; in fact, this is something that I specifically mention to my writers...
@gamingunited We don't run advertisements on the site. But we certainly don't accept payments from companies to write content. This was an original idea pitched by the author, which I approved. I even have the original conversation transcript, not that I need to prove anything to you.
I run this website. I know how we make money. This is not how.
Why would Microsoft pay a site like this? Not IGN, GameSpot, Polygon?
Common sense? Sure. But this is a pretty genius marketing move, if GTA V is anything to go by.
Bruce Straley didn't even work on TLOU2. He was almost certainly referring to Uncharted 4 at the time.
Also, "nobody realized"? What about all the replies to his original comment? This is the laziest attempt at "journalism" I've ever seen.
Yet in the UK, 28°C is apparently a heatwave—a.k.a. a regular day in Australia. 😉
Says the guy with over 1,700 comments on N4G lmao.
They're not supposed to look like the movie characters.
@nucky64 That's fair. People are probably hoping for exclusive details, but I don't think Troy will be giving any of those away.
I disagree. He talks about the first day on set, discusses what it was like to return with Ashley Johnson, and reveals when Neil Druckmann first told him that they’d be making a second game. I don’t know if you were expecting him to give away some massive exclusive or spoil the plot, but I think he said a lot of interesting things here.
Miles Morales is the entire game...
