I agree...I guess the people whining about a cheap $25.00 per year go to the store and people give them the magazines on the shelf. I have a PS3 and the Xbox360. I bought the PS3 mainly for the Blu-Ray player. The online experience of PSN at this time, cannot compare to Xbox Live. However, do you really think Blu-Ray will sell the PS3? The reason I ask is the Wii can't even play regular DVDs and its dominating the industry right now. I agree with your comments except on Uncharted. I played it and it reminded me of Tomb Raider. The graphics and acting were amazing. But the gameplay in my opinion was not fresh. Please let me know what I missed.
I'm going to save all of the comments for this article. Next year if MGS4 and Killzone2 make the Game of the Year List, the PS3 Fanboys will be raving about G4. Then all of a sudden G4 will no longer be Xbots. Time for the PS3 Fanboys to accept that the PS3 is NOT the PS2 and probably won't dominate the industry in the same manner. I was at my local Gamestop yesterday and asked about the sales of the PS3. At this particular store the manager indicated they're not seeing increased sales due to the price drop on the new 40GB.

When I was at Gamestop this weekend buying Uncharted Drake's Fortune, I asked the manager if the PS3 sales have improved with the price drop and new 40GB. He told me no. He hasn't seen an increase. Hopefully people are waiting to buy it to put under the Christmas tree. Only time will tell.
I liked the demo. The Animation and graphics were top notch. However, I'm not blown away by the gameplay. Its already been done. I felt like I was playing Tomb Raider with awesome graphics. I have concerns over the target system. I like the ability to take cover and to dive around. That was fun (but not new...Gears of War, Rainbow Six). Hopefully the full game will offer some unique gameplay. I don't think its the game that will sell PS3 consoles (those are coming in 2008).
I'm fortunate enough to own both consoles. Here are things PS3 needs to put it in the same league as Xbox Live....
1)Allow for access to your Friend's list ALL the time not just when your in the XBM.
2)Allow for voice chat with Friend's from your friend's list while you play a game.
3)Allow for game invites from your Friend's list while in a game. Creating a seperate friend's list in each game is not the answer or flexible.

The comments above that state, "this will change since the PS3 games coming look amazing". The game can be the most amazing looking game ever created but if the gameplay is bad, it won't sell. For example, Lair, looks amazing. However, the reviews on the gameplay are low to fair. These types of games will not sell the console for their graphics.

I agree with you on your comments on the young racist kids on 360. I'm surprised how many kids under 17 are playing games that are rated M. I've heard rumors that Xbox is developing some security around this so people can report anyone under 17 playing a rate M game. They will investigate and if they find the complaint true, freeze their Xbox Live account and their parents will need to unlock the account.
I think I remember reading a few months ago on N4g.com, that Microsoft has signed a deal with NetFlix. I wonder if we'll ever be able to have unlimited movie downloads for a monthly fee. That would be a nice addition. I'd probably use it more. Right now I belong to Netflix and rent movies for the 360 HD-DVD player and I have the Blue Ray in my PS3, so I don't download a lot of movies from the Xbox Marketplace.

Do you know if you can access your friend's list and send messages from a Playstation Website. I do this frequently on Xbox.com. It allows me to view my friend's list and see who is on. I can also send text messages from this site. Is there something similar for the PS3 and if not, do you know if there's something coming?
