PS4 was already out and the rest of the world were already getting full games on PS3 PS+ while the Asia region was still getting less in comparison. End of the day it's just a case of different territories having different rights and complaining that one region is getting more than another, though understandable, is neither new nor recent.
Back on PS3 the Asia region always got smaller downloadable games when the US and EU were getting full games from what I remember. It was what kept me from subscribing at the time.

Lore-wise the dead kombatants souls were under the control of the fallen elder god Shinnok. This lead to the Netherrealm war which has only been mentioned but barely shown. It is assumed that most of the souls in Quan Chi and Shinnok's command were revived after said war by means of magic.
They mentioned that failing these QTE's won't lead to death you can prettymuch fail all of them and it would still lead you to the next fight, they're just there to create minor variations in the cutscenes.
I have no problems with QTE's if it's not made as an either you press it or you die mechanic.

The answer to that is simple, we don't have enough information on gameplay mechanics of the older cast to actually call them carbon copies.
They have similar looks but it doesn't mean they'll play the same. Jax has robotic arms while Jacqui has wrist mounted guns for example would pose different styles.

The mkx comic mentioned something called the netherrealm war, which putting two and two together implies it involves Shinnok and his new zombie army from the mk9 ending. Likely scenario the war was able to revive some of those zombie version of the characters through magic.

As I said in the post weak complaints deserve weak replies, it's okay to fight fire with fire as long as the only thing that'll get hurt is ego. If Jaffe replied like this to someone who actually gives constructive criticism then by all means call foul.

He was reading from non-constructive criticisms, some belittling him as a person. They can be hardly called critics.
