It'd be like if the NY Times put "Jeff Goldblum is dead" on their front page, and then on the inside cover article wrote how sources say Jeff is dead, but the NYT doesn't believe them but decided to publish it anyway.
It's a running total. It applies to everything, even 1kb updates. The MTV blog even mentions RE5 by name. DId you read it?
Regarding the forum post complaint, that rule only applies to posting random people's opinions or rumours that stem from a random post on a forum.
