Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, Halo Wars. And now Reach. 6 games in 10-11 years. Every system has titles with sequels. Nobody says Nintendo is "milking" Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. Sony "milking" Final Fantasy or Metal Gear? People get excited for sequels to games they like. How many GTAs and Need for Speeds are there?

Why would you want 2 PS3s? The only system I own 2 of is the NES, and that's only because I now have my childhood one, and the one I bought when I was in college.
The sega genesis had possibly the best accessory ever. The sega channel had around 50 games streamed through the cable lines every month. If it wasn't for the sega channel, I never would have played games like Dr. Robotnicks Mean Bean Machine, Sonic Spinball, Columns, Road Rash 2, Comix Zone, Vectorman...man, I wish the 360 or PS3 had anything close to that...

Anyway, I have owned every halo (well, not halo wars), thousands of games logged on live, and still I haven't gotten pumped about this one. I would normally preorder and wait in the midnight lines, but this has become a wait and see. Maybe reach will get me excited.

As you said, the player will still be able to play movies. However, most people, I would imagine, are afraid of their players becoming "obsolete," not outdated. And so it sounds like someone with HDDVD is playing off those fears.
