Can't be a beta tester if the game hasn't released on PS3 yet. Xedge would be a good point. But the 360 has "beta tested" plenty of games like Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean 4, and Ninja Gaiden.

I was in your shoes but after I got my pS3 back from Sony ( i got ylod too), I put in a 500 gig hard drive and never looked back.
