As long as they still offer good games, we're fine. Now Witcher 2 is coming soon, and I'm also looking forward to this year's fall releases. In the mean time, I'll try to clean up my backlog.
SPOILERS
If this is indeed the case, __and__ they do not charge extra for the real ending, BioWare will be heroes, and will be congratulated for their ingenuity.
Otherwise, they should expect a sharp decline in the DA3 - or any other BW game - sales, and especially pre-orders.
SPOILER
It already exists. If you have 4000 EMS (not TMS), and 100% reputation, and keep Anderson alive, and choose to "destroy", then you get a few seconds extra footage at the end, where Shepard "breathes".
Even if they were related (probably not -- different writers), it would not make the *execution* of the ending sequence any more elegant.
I'll try to explain why they were wrong (not "sad", or "bittersweet", etc) without spoilers.
The endings were out of place with the story, jumping from the core narrative into something else - for a few minutes, and then destroy everything important about the universe. They failed to provide closure ...
Here the issue is not "entitlement" or ending was "bad". The ending could be worse - for example ending to Modern Warfare games has always been worse, but people do not care so much.
The issue is, ending was "wrong". Bioware repeatedly promised (check developer quotes) a more meaningful ending, and gave their fans something nobody can make sense of (except for "it's all a dream").
I would agree with gamingdroid. I've benefited from a lot of cheap XBL card deals (both points, and Gold), that removing those would actually cost me more money.
Will they give this game in addition to the older download, or is this for newcomers only?
And, let's not forget the opportunities to use some of the Xbox brand in other places.
We already know they want to integrate heavily with WP7, and Windows 8 (screenshots were everywhere). Maybe they are taking it a step further (like the Sony PS Android Phones), and making a portable (i.e: Nokia Phone) Xbox with a limited library.
Just wishful thinking...
And even worse, you don't have to be in escort mission to be hit by this trope. I remember being literally pushed out of cover by friendly AI under heavy fire.
And of course let's not forget the one, where the entire game consists of escorting a stupid AI, I'm looking at you : RE5. The only way I was able to conserve ammo was by taking the guns out of Sheva's hand!
This actually is an important event for the Halo franchise. It's changed hands, and we'll see whether it will continue on being great, or wither as in older ones (looking at you Sonic - with a frowny face).
Anyways, I hope they make good of the opportunity, and deliver us a great game.
This is two ways, one one side, they seem to be right. On the other side, if I purchase a $60 game, and done with it, I want to be able to resell it to recoup some of my losses. The money that comes will of course go to buying more games.
If I did not have the option to resell them - or swap, or tradein, whatever, I would be buying much less new games, especially full price during release.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll make a note to remember this.
This is nice news, more codes to go around means more chance I'll eventually get one.
Btw, if anyone has an extra, I'd be glad to join in. :)
We're talking 10 years from now, and if Crytek's idea goes, we'll have consoles with 8GB RAM in next-gen.
The current generation was OK with DVD9's. Xbox 360 can still live for 2-3 years with it, but cannot live 10 years if they want to be competitive.
BC is nice to have, but if I want to keep playing this-gen games, I can keep my this-gen console.
On the other hand, being "future proof" is much more important. For example, 512MB RAM is barely OK now (look at the mushy textures in all the games), and DVD is unfortunately no longer an option. Everything else can be worked around.
It's good the see that beta is coming up nicely. Of course being a beta, there might be quirks, but Epic know what they're doing, and the resulting work seems to be very polished.
Nevertheless it would be nice to get some access codes to the beta, if anyone has an extra, I'd be glad to receive it :)
I wholly agree with you.
People do not have the slightest idea how a game is developed, and bash the developers at every possibility.
Look at it this way: You're buying a finished house at $60 (K), and the contractor says they can build a pool for an additional $5 (K). You cannot complain about the pool not being included when the house is delivered, it was not on the contract at the first place.
At some point they have to stop adding stu...
I need Torchlight more, because I want to switch my experience from the PC to the Xbox.
2013 is fine, I'm ready for it. Late 2012 might also be OK, but definitely will not invest something that goes out this year. It will be too soon to make a lasting difference.
I agree with you.
Many people do not realize this (especially who did not invest time in the entire series), but BW failed to keep many of their promises ("player choice mattered", "there will be no A, B, C style endings", etc). However it still is a video game, their video game, and they can choose to make it fail. What we can do is, not pre-order their newer games, and wait a few weeks to make sure they do not pull this again. (Same with DLC, their prec...
