I live in the US so we do not have GAME here, but didn't GAME mainly shutdown last year? Or did something change?

I do not think that will help extend the life of it's Multiplayer mode.
No one in the world yet knows what the specs are for either the next Playstation and Xbox console. There is no way to say which will do what until they actually announce it to the world.

Wow, I'm surprised, I didn't even realize that this was still an active game. I thought Microsoft abandoned this after the OS launch failure of Vista. I stil don't get why games like this don't have dedicated servers so anyone could play down the road.
True 1080p resolution for ALL games with native textures will be a big deal. Plus stable framerate as well as better shading and more objects on screen at once. It's not a HUGE leap, but it's the next one and over time as more titles come out, the differences will add up. Both the PS3 and 360 had a long shelf life, but you can see now compared to your common laptop computer the graphics and performance are getting long in the tooth.
I don't believe there will be a new PS console. It just doesn't make sense based on the issues they are having with their electronics across the board. If there is going to be new PS console it will be at least another year out. I mean they just stopped making the PS2 a few weeks ago. And the PS3 is still plagued by poor multi-platform releases that have lower framerate's and lesser overall quality. Sony just isn't the big dog right now. I think it's high time for SE...
4K is not even an option at this stage of the game. The PS3 didn't do hardly anything at true 1080p for graphics. Most games were 720p based. This whole 4k thing needs to be dropped and a definitive true 1080p gaming experience needs to be delivered to the public. If Sony is even still in business in 5+ years then maybe they can discuss the 4k level technology when it may be a little more known at that point.
Sony is not the name it used to be. It is going to be a uphill struggle for buyers after the stick of the PS3 that still continues to haunt them. Honestly, Sony needs to bow out of the market.
I do not believe there is a PS4 coming. Sony cannot afford to stay in the console business. The Vita has lost them more money this past year then anything else in previous years. They continue to operate in the red, so how could they come up with a new console? Again, this is just my view.
Based upon the horrible support of PS2 games on PS3 and it's quick drop of BC. I really do not care if they even bothering trying to do it. I am not even going to bother getting the PS4. I think Sony will bow out of the console game before it even hits. They have lost far too much money.
There will be no PS4. Sony will not be able to truly afford another gaming console failure. They need to cut their loses and end with the Vita and PS3 as their consoles.
