can't believe the disagree's here. Ok sure, art style isn't the only important aspect, but it can go a long way towards visual fidelity. Look at the original Uncharted. Full of colour, interesting and varied environments, lush jungle, etc. It was designed to stand out graphically from modern games in two main area's; colour/environments and animation. And it did on both.

Naughty Dog have a great thing on their hands with Uncharted. It's technically profici...

1280*720 is almost double the resolution (in pixels) compared to 960*544. Don't believe me? Do the maths. Or, if you're lazy, look up at my last post.
Now, do we need 1280*720 on a 5 inch screen? No, not really. The pixel density (ppi) at that resolution will be much higher than on any regular hdtv because the screen is much smaller. That said, you're also likely to be closer to it. Look at the iPhone 4's screen, at 960*640 it's not too much higher than the vita, a...

TheIneffableBob is right,
1920*720 = 921,600 pixels
960*540 = 522,240 pixels

In other words, U:DF run natively at 1.76 times the amount of pixels of the Vita's screen, and we don't know for sure that Golden Abyss is running at native resolution on the vita yet (no reason it shouldn't be).

No worries, I agree with you, actually. You saved me from reading the 'article' at any rate.

@Biggest,

Let me put it this way, you have $100 in your wallet. You pay $50 for PSN+. Lets assume that nothing else changes in this wallet, you don't use the money to buy anything and you don't add any money. At the end of the year, you have 12 months worth of PSN+ content. How much money do you have in your wallet? $50, not the original $100. So none of that content was free.

You may save money, yes, but what Lucreto said:
"Its free for ...

@Biggest,
How am I wrong? Try to understand what I'm saying here, I don't have anything against PSN+. on the contrary, I think it's a pretty good service, and games like this included make it even more so. What I am trying to do is make it clear that you're not getting any content free of charge. If you get this game through your PSN+ subscription, which you pay for, then how are you getting it free of charge? Yes you didn't pay specifically for this game when you ...

@Lucreto,
PSN+ looks like a pretty good service, for what you get. My only real gripe is not knowing in advance what to expect month by month. I don't game online so it isn't really worth considering, but I can see why people who do get a lot of PSN content would enjoy it.

That said, you didn't get this game, or anything else from PSN+ "free". You can't say that you've made back the money in the price of content, because:
a) you s...

@All arguing about PS3 "usage" in terms of GoW3 and 4...
I remember reading an article, I believe behind the team at Naughty Dog, about the argument of "power" and "usage" in consoles. They were talking about the PS2, but what they said still applies. I can't find the article atm, so I'll post what I remember.

Essentially, any code you write will use "100%" of the CPU cycles available of any processor. The same holds tru...

Considering the tech in this thing, plus R&D costs, I'm worried the price will be higher than $300. Next generation smartphones running on the same CPU + GPU combo, plus WiFi, 3G, high resolution screen (OLED further increasing costs here), digitizer (this has two of them, presumably), on board NAND storage, ≈512mb ram, etc. are expected to go for more than twice that. The next generation iPhone is expected to have very similar hardware, and without subsidisation they go for ≈$800. <...

@ElementX,
My point was that the term is ambiguous. For example, I tend to think of it as meaning twice a week.

@JoySticksFTW,
Thanks for the heads up with the books. I'll definitely check them out.

On Topic,
As I don't game online, I don't care for 1 and most of 5, I have a 320gb HDD in my ps3 atm, and it's networked to a terabyte drive for media, so installs aren't much of a concern for me other than requiring a b...

@evrfighter,

Don't put console gamers all in one tidy group man, there are idiots on both sides of the equation. Just because SasanovaS1987 has no idea what he's talking about, doesn't mean that the rest of us don't understand something as simple as resolution.

While I agree that the best of cutting edge graphics occur on the PC, you should at least concede that the argument is not as simple as discussing resolution, anti aliasing and other te...

@ElementX,
does bi-weekly mean once every two weeks, or twice a week though?

@PS3Blog or Freak_c,
All in all, fortnight is the best expression. Don't simplify the language just to cater to an audience, write as you see fit. Good article by the way, looking forward to more.

I can easily see the appeal for what you've listed above, and a ton more besides. But there needs to be a balance. You have to realise that 90% of people who hear t...

Guys, what evrfighter and DOMination are saying is 100% correct. I don't understand all the disagree's. They are not implying that Naughty Dog are "milking" the Uncharted franchise, just pointing out that the development cycles between the three companies are similar.

Of course, the fact that two companies working on a single franchise makes things different, as it results in a COD every year, but that doesn't change the fact that each individual game to...

For $500 I could pay someone to find you and silence that annoying whining your making, so you'd better hope I decide to spend it on the wheel instead. :D
Jokes aside, looks like a hell of a kit. I've just checked out thrustmasters Warthog pro flightstick (on which tech in this wheel is from) and it sounds pretty sick. I'd be happy when I find a G25 or G27 where I am, but it's interesting stuff. There's a lot they can do to make racing sims more r...
