I miss Heroes. One of my favorite shows of all time. On topic this game looks decent. Hopefully it turns out well.
Right now it seems the best RPG of 2012 is coming out in March but FF 13-2 is a very close 2nd in my eyes. I'm sure there are more 2012 RPGs to be announced but just like 2010 Final Fantasy and Mass Effect will probably be my top 2 RPGs of the year.

I understand a lot of people liked FF 9 but the story and characters did nothing for me. FF X on the other hand had it all. Of course that is just my opinion.

A good story is very important to me but I see your point. I have played quite a few games that make up for a weak to average story with great gameplay. Most fighting games have terrible stories but I love them. The main point of my comment was to say that story is very important to me but I may have gone have gone a little extreme by saying a bad story alone can ruin a game.
A good story is mandatory for me. If I don't enjoy the story that just ruins the whole game. I like that the author brought up Final Fantasy 9 and first person shooters. I hate most FPS because they have terrible stories and FF 9's weak story is among the reasons I'm not a huge fan of that particular Final Fantasy.
I wish this came out this year but at least I won't have to wait too long in 2012. Hopefully it will release the first week of January.
I pick Chrono Trigger and its not even close. FF IX was one of my least favorite Final Fantasy games. It was an okay game but Chrono Trigger was a masterpiece.
Still the best game of this generation to me.
Just give me a HD collection of X and X-2 and I'll buy it without hesitation. A Kingdom Hearts HD collection would also be awesome.

I prefer to wait on a solid release date before pre-ordering a game. I agree that a lot of good games are coming out this year. Hopefully that will make the wait for FF13-2 and Mass Effect 3 a little less painful.
I like Deadly Premonition a lot but that is the craziest article title I've ever read. It is good but those 3 games are way better.

I loved FF13 and FF8 is my third favorite Final Fantasy behind 10 and 4. My personal list would just be FF12 five times.
I played all 3 of those. 6 and 10 are better than 10-2 but I still think 10-2 is an excellent game.
I liked Dragon Age 2. It wasn't a huge leap over Origins and was actually worse in some areas but I think it is a pretty good game overall.
