What does that have to do with NPD's reported numbers?
I haven't actually listened to his music, but I doubt Bieber can claim the quality and market longevity that Sony can.
...in fact, Microsoft seems to be the one that rode a wave of hype to prominence.
Hmm...
Infamous is on XB1? The Show is on XB1? The Order is on XB1? Drive Club is on XB1?
Seems like you just told a big lie.
When most of the games are the same, the specs are likely to be next.
There are pretty much two choices: play in your undies, or play without em.
And PC doesn't have to worry about various hardware architectures.
My, that was asinine..
Hey, I like this guy. He's funny!
Forcing the Kinect without compelling software is what set this in motion.
Getting a lot of games for a dead platform...
You forgot the part where Microsoft insulted your intelligence for not wanting the DRM, wanting to sell the games you bought, and wanting a system that didn't need an internet connection.
We have a winner!
Has everyone forgotten the decade or so during which the USA was Playstation territory?
Do you think that, for some odd reason, that'll never happen again?
Exactly what can Microsoft do- that Sony cannot counter- that will facilitate their domination here?
Are they the same people? Are they moaning about Kinect being unbundled, or simply noting what such a move could indicate as it pertains to Microsoft's intentions for the device?
Believe it or not- I suspect you won't- but it's entirely possible for the same person to see both the good and the bad in this. Some people, you may be surprised to know, can look at things objectively, and comment accordingly.
Edit: I guess I should acknowledge that th...
@Death: your argument fails for multiple reasons.
One is that market share does not carry over. If it did, Microsoft and Nintendo would have put up generation 7 numbers in the eighth generation. That obviously did not happen.
Price point, marketing, actual market presence and many other things contribute to market share each generation.
And there's the fact that the market, itself, grew. At the start of the eighth gen, there was somethin...
Or a year of consumer disinterest coupled with a six month trouncing.
Besides, this isn't our first dance with Kinect; its implementation in games hasn't gone very far beyond what we've seen for years already.
The innovation has been missing since the start, particularly given that nearly everything the Kinect was advertised to do has been done first, better, and/or cheaper in other devices.
You're right, from a business standpoint, Volkama. But only if you can also blind consumers to competing products. With Microsoft not able to do that, they look extremely bad.
Simply put, it's not something you can afford to fail at. And Microsoft has failed.
That will cost them.
If only the Move was touted as a central, non-stop removable part of Sony's consoles, you'd be right.
Alas, Sony never forced the peripheral on their consumers, so your comparison rings hollow. Indeed, it seems you're the one grasping at straws as you attempt to draw parallels that simply don't exist.
At the least, the framerate would be more stable. It's also highly likely that the game would be in 1080p.
..though, with that said, wouldn't the rendering difference be nearly the same? What's the difference in pixels displayed at 1080p versus 900p? Isn't that something like twice as much? If so, then isn't it possible that the PS4 could run Ryse at 60fps at the same resolution? Seems likely.
It's not that they're learning what their consumers want. They actually don't care about that.
Rather, it's learning what their consumers will let them get away with, and adjusting accordingly.
If your intent on remaining ignorant, how the hell do you expect anyone to enlighten you?
