i think the real impact of this innovation comes with a future vr contoller + headset.

i'd say, if you can plug it in directly, chances are that psvr2 will be wired too, if not, next headset might be wireless. wired seems more likely if i had to take a guess now.
everything old should work too. question is: do you still need the processor box or can you plug the headset directly into the ps5?
not the disk free version, not sure about the disk version though. what i am sure about is that as by today microsoft would have to pay me to play on their system.
too many big companys leeching with cuts that the average consumer can't afford anymore so one of them has to go for the others to continue to make profits for the next years i guess.
