How can the 360 beat the PS2 or even the PS1. The PS2 sold over 100 million consoles, people still buy the games and it has the best line-up of games of all time.
There wasn't 100 million users for the PS2 when MGS2 first came out. MGS2 came out within a year of the PS2 and it sold well. With the PS3 selling faster than the PS2 within the same time frame expect MGS4 sales to be very good.
With DMC4 selling close to 200,000 since its release on the PS3 in the US. The other games in the series never sold over 4 million copies worldwide lifetime with over 100 million PS2 systems out there. Expect MGS4 at the very least double those sales in US alone in a shorter amount of time. People will buy PS3 games once the big hitters come out and MGS4 will start it off this 2nd quarter.
The lineup for the PS3 will be great this year. MGS4,Resistance 2, Tekken 6,GT5,Killzone...
Just to clear this up, they don't have to sell one million copies on day one as revealed on the kojima productions report. Since it is a worldwide release they will get close to those sales though.
For the last time MGS4 doesn't have to sell one million copies on day one. Ryan Peyton cleared that up on the kojima productions report. Sorry xbox fanboys even if it doesn't sell a million copies day one,MGS4 still won't be on the 360 till a very long time.
You guys do realize that MGS4 doesn't need to sell 1 million copies on day one. RP himself stated on a KP report that it was indeed fake after that news came out. Either way I want a game with ninja Raiden.
In response to Zhuk, not all PS3 games failed to make a profit. Resistance sold over 2 million copies. Dynasty Warriors 6 sold like crazy when it came out in Japan. I believe it was 250,000 copies sold(not to sure about the number) and the 360 version sold like crap. imagine when the other more popular franchises comes out like MGS4 and FFXIII. If Dyasty Warriors can sell like that only in Japan on the PS3, then MGS4 and FFXIII will probably double that number in Japan alone.
Its already confirmed coming out in the US and Europe during the Autumn season of this year confirmed by Sega. People start getting hyped for it.
