half way though it looked like it was a visual novel with a horror mystery setting. decision making, clues, etc.

I agree Switch has room to improve, I also believe this is a portable not a home console. That being said, its outstanding. Yes it lacks many modern features, things I hope to see Nintendo add in.
what I don't get is why everyone wants a 3rd me too console. Xbox and PS4 copy and compete with each other enough that we don't need a 3rd box going the same thing. I'm glad Nintendo is different, though infuriatingly so with some design choices.
they list off every type of interference basically. When I call any company about wireless issues all of these things come up. This isn't a Nintendo specific move.
Its also not unheard of for Nintendo to ship those original buyers some goodies to fix a problem. Wii-condoms for example.

Expected, The switch has not shy about letting the audience know the features will ramp up in the months to come. I would like more emphasis on hardware wise what works rather than the software.

Why should developers not be allowed to utilize one of the switches many configurations? The base console allows for at least 3 different kinds of play. I don't think I want motion on the train, yet some games utilize it. isn't that an ugly precedent for a mobile console?

just because Nintendo makes hardware doesn't mean each software team know it inside and out. Nintendo has shown a level of polish that few companies try to do. That is a team philosophy and would carry over to other platforms if they became a software-only company.
What I do like about nintendo is part to do with their hardware though. I love my 3DS and their hardware also has some of that Nintendo charm. Nintendo could use a lot of work on their system level programmin...
I never once had a problem with the vortex rifle, but perhaps I never ran into someone who could really use it.
I suppose the shotgun would be the closest thing to an OP weapon, but I never once felt I needed one to be doing well. I easily could handle people at a distance.
I also might be giving doom a pass with the super shot gun due to the nature of the single player aspect where it encourages you to get in peoples face and the shotgun seems like the obvio...
As soon as any console is released the next one starts development. They road map it, they start working deals, making pitches. That doesnt mean we are getting a new console soon.
I think the shotgun is intentional, and its even some what balanced due to its effective range. you cant simply run around with a shot gun and win.

Chips are already designed for each company. Global Founderies or someone like that will just keep printing the chips.
I dont know if some other company can continue to bug fix the chips.
thats exactly right. Tiny margins and AMD pretty much saw a lot of their money already. they got money that kept them floating longer, but at this point AMD might just kill over. They have had a few CEOs in a row who just had the wrong image for the company.
This just means more and more games that cant be depended on for me to play.
I get deployed, I cant play.
My internet gets weak for some reason, thats going to effect my game.
I know I will miss out on multiplayer from time to time, but once single player requires a connection is the day I just can't count on gaming.
Maybe in 10 years when we have full fiber networks and cities with Wifi everywhere it will be less of a concern.......

I was loosing my confidence in the series after Brother Hood.
3 was a disappointment.
black flags narrative was so weak I dont remember anything about the main character.
I want to see a return to two, and with the more and more modern settings, I feel like we are getting away from what I liked in the franchise.
Why is this news? this has been in the playbooks long before this generation. Slimmed down consoles are nothing new and should be expected.
