I bought a Wii U for the kids and they really like it. The thing that is really killing this system is not the power under the hood, but it is the lack of games.
What I am looking out for with Nintendo is whether the Wii U will ultimately fail like the Dreamcast (my fav system!) or will they turn it around like the PS3?
Saying that Nintendo is dead because it isn't selling in the US is like saying Xbox is dead because it isn't selling in Japan. Dude you buy Nintendo for Nintendo games, and if you don't like Nintendo games, then don't buy the system! Simple solution LOL!
I don't think that Nintendo ever had those hardcore gamers. They have always been a family company and they have not changed their vision really. What has changed is the gaming demographics.
Dude I bought this for my kids, and they love it. I love it too because I don't have to worry about them being sworn at online, and if I want to use the tv they can still use the gamepad.
Honestly people saying the console is dead due to being under powered are foolish because PC Gaming is for the graphics enthusiasts. The problem Nintendo have is there aren't any games to pull the core gaming crowd in. Sorry but Zelda is a 10-year old game. Outside of Mario eve...
I just started playing Mass Effect 1. I am looking forward to the games so hopefully I won't be too disappointed in the third!
I think the reality of it is that in the gaming industry anything can happen. Look at the PS3 when it launched. I still love watching how to kill your brand, a parody music video concerning how bad the PS3 was.
I for one just bought a Wii U and I also plan on buying a PS4 so while it is not my primary gaming platform, Nintendo can count on gamers like myself to by its games. :)

I started playing this and I couldn't stop playing it. I was one of those who decided to not to buy it for GC due to the cell shading, but I am glad that I now have a chance to play through it.
This will outsell the Wii U and the Xbone. I am picking one up day one!!
Nintendo is a great software company, however, I think they should get out of the hardware business as they appear to be as clueless about the gaming community as Michael Patcher.
Until the Uncharted series (and now Tomb Raider) came around, all my favorite games were on Nintendo Consoles. Times have changed, and so has Nintendo. OH how I miss Rare...

Actually this makes perfect sense. When I bought my 320gb Slim, I immediately removed the hard drive and added a 500gb hybrid drive in. It would have been awesome to get one without a hard drive for less money. I still agree that 12gb isn't enough, but you can easily swap the hdd out.
