I would rather actually get the system cheaper (which is what the headline made it sound like) than get an assortment of digital games decided by MS. The value behind those digital copies is arbitrary and I'd prefer to choose my own hard copy games anyway.

I'm surprised that the big three haven't capitalized on emulators for PC.

I'm glad they haven't, but I'm still surprised.

Steam has had some slip ups in what they approve of lately, but I doubt that they would let this pass without evidence that they have the rights.

Well, at least that money is being pumped back into the economy!

I can't stop reading the headline in Woody Allen's voice now.

"...and just...and leave it at the hotel! Like it was nothing to them!"

"Let people see who are rating them"

Awful idea that will lead to users being harassed over a single disagree because someone is salty that they got some disagrees or that a comment they agree with got disagrees.

Discourse would get worse, not better.

No. Bundles do not mean that you're "effectively" getting a system for $[base price] - $[bundled "value"]. Clickbait.

Their IPs aren't the problem. It's the lack of third party support. They don't make systems as powerful as developers demand and they keep creating interfaces that complicate porting games to their system, leading to gamers having a more limited selection of games.

Not a lot of gamers want to buy a system for JUST first party games.

You can argue "chicken or the egg?" all day long about who's more at fault ("Nintendo or the th...

How often do users REALLY expend all of their bubbles on Techspy, though? That's not exactly something I've seen a lot of.

If you're losing bubbles, look back at the comments that you lost them on and don't repeat the behavior. It's that simple.

Attacking users in an uncivilized manner? Lose a bubble.
Using bad language (Hey, if that's what N4G wants...)? Lose a bubble.
Immature comment? Lose a bubble.
Make an off topic remark? Lose a bubble.
Blatant trolling? Lose a bubble.

Make an interesting, well stated, intelligent, funn...

The agree/disagree system works fine (you're simply upset that people disagree with you and can't fathom that you might be wrong). It has no real effect on anything other than displaying where the community agrees or disagrees with a comment made; it discourages people from spamming for comment #1, #2, #3, etc just to make it look like the gaming community agrees with something that person/group thinks.

Also, the bubbles work in the favor of reasonable users of all c...

"Many media outlets are taking the revelations that Nintendo is building a “dedicated platform with a brand new concept”...is a sign the Wii U is being rushed to the discontinued bin"

And because their E3 was weak. And because Wii U sales are weak. And because Reggie called NX a home console.

Gee, where'd they get that idea?

The problem is that they have no chance of doing that AND making the developers happy with the performance of the system, while giving it a price that Nintendo fans have come to expect (a low one, that is).

If they try a hybrid, they will be in a deeper hole with the console community than they already are. So unless I'm vastly underestimating the marketability of a hybrid system, I doubt that it would leave them in any better of a situation.
