The figures are correct, but there's a lot of fallacies in there, not to mention the articles you're quoting are mostly "best guess" about the RSX, a chip which is essentially closer to a G71 than a G70 LOL. For instance, there's no such thing as "free" AA on the 360 at HD resolutions, especially not at 1080p. There's absolutely no mention of the fact that the pixel shaders on the RSX are roughly equivelant to two Xenos' unified pipes.

The pixel shader units...

Near as I can tell, its not like your example however, since there's nothing being reused from the original. You're still re-using the original footage from Star Wars, while in this case, it would be more like hiring entirely new actors, production crew, and filming everything over again from scratch without using a single frame from the original film. That's what we're seeing here.

Far superior how? Most of the informed sites I've been to have remarked that the two are about the same, only varying in featuresets, beyond3d for example (a site where many game devs post and exchange info). Even more of a problem is that many of the workings of the RSX are still not fully understood, and the majority of comparison articles between the RSX and Xenos were made before we even fully understood the big picture.

Heck, don't believe me? Look up FP10 blending vs FP16...

I agree with everyone else on this one. A Lair demo is coming eventually, but I don't think this soon. If I had to stake a hunch on it, the 1.60 firmware update that's supposed to change the front-end of the PS store might be it, but I'm not holding my breath.

Its interesting, because Motorstorm is either a game you love or a game you don't. Its very subjective, and for those who do enjoy it, its definitely an A+ title.

The problem here, is that it isn't a "universal" A+ title. Personally tho, I know quite a few people who are overjoyed with the game.

The Xenos, while related to the R600 series of ATI GPU's, uses the R500 series's shaders (which are really just the R400's with a 20-pack of redbull).

The RSX uses the Nvidia equivelant of the same shaders, and Nvidia's shaders actually do a better job of pulling off dynamic HDR lighting.

So in most cases, the same game with the same effects, the PS3 version will have functional lighting, but the 360 version will have very very strong bleed-through and an almost ...

When you're $10 takes shape, etc. just go out and buy another $10 cable after a year, LOL. Its still not going to add-up to that $100 for a few years.

According to most of the sites, it goes public beta next month...

So clearly... it isn't CGI. Especially if Phil Harrison was actually playing it.

DOA is a very imprecise game. It doesn't require the gaming precision that VF5 does. If someone can't see the comparison, they probably aren't good enough at VF5 to appreciate it.

DOA is a very imprecise fighting system, its very forgiving of its hits and combos, there's a large window of effect. Also, given the fact that Itagaki is a loony, its no wonder. If DOA spent as much time on fighting mechanics as they do on boob physics, it'd be the best fighting game in history.

Final Fantasy games tend to work on a game-by-game basis. Aside from game mechanics and a few names/places, you could pick-up FFXIII and enjoy it, since the game has nothing to do with FFXII or any other story for that matter.

So each game tells its own story, often times in different settings, places, etc.

You do realize that in order for Sony to continue making this many systems SOMEONE has to be buying them right?

The problem here, is that everything that VF5 suffers from, the DR port does worse.

No online? Same. No story? Same (heck, there aren't even endings for all the characters). The quest mode is shallow in comparison to VF5's.

Not to mention, VF5 should've gotten a better score in the first place, but as of late I haven't had any trust in gamespot.

Sony doesn't have any great 1st party games... not.

Sometime you should look at the game studios that Sony owns and are considered in-house. You might be surprised.

Mk2 is pretty much the pinnacle of the series. UMK3 was rubbish in comparison. Lack of balance, and cyberninjas being the main reasons for suckage.

No, it shouldn't

The problem with fighting games that require accuracy up to several milliseconds/frames is that it falls WELL into the latency of the average broadband connection. Games such as Soul Calibur and VF would need to be reduced down to their simplest forms (like DOA) in order to work online, and frankly, that's no game I'd want to play.

I'm totally blown away by those images, incredible. I can't wait to play it.

There are no memory problems. This has been outright denied over and over and keeps coming-up. Bethesda devs have come out and stated that they feel the additional enhancements would be detrimental to game balance, NOT the lame half-cooked memory issue that 1up seems to have concocted.

Prove that the draw distances and updated graphics are coming to 360.

The 1up quote states... "Furthermore, the shader which helps the textures in the distance is coming to the 360."

Texture detail has nothing to do with draw distance. What's the point of having better texture detail if there's nothing to texture yet? More importantly, "Distant Shader Fix" does not mean "ZOMG improved graphics everywhere!" like the majority appear ar...

Sure he does. What does this press release say? That numbers went-up. So we should immediately assume that his "theory" regarding the attach rate from NOVEMBER should somehow magically apply now in the middle of January?

You did read the links right? You do realize that the 1.5 attach rate was quoted AT LAUNCH, right? Furthermore, how is an article printed in November going to know the attach rate in January of the following year? It boggles the mind...
