This site is toxic for anything besides lurking. I've been coming here for years and this is probably my first comment in five years.
Twin Snakes is definitely not half assed. It's probably the definitive version of Metal Gear Solid.
Because Konami already remade MGS1 like fifteen years ago.
I find it hilarious that we've gone from Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4.
Lost planet came out almost ten years ago.
I think he/she means that all the offerings are typically four years old, not that they have only collected for four years.
If you haven't seen it, DQVIII looks phenomenal on the PCSX2 emulator. The cell shading lends itself to upscaling quite well. I own an actual copy but have played it recently on the emulator. Check it out!
Star Ocean 2 was an RPG far ahead of its time. The inbetweeners of the series are still solid games, but 2 was the shining light for me. 5 looks incredibly exciting. I get that SO2 vibe and I know I'm not the only one who can't wait.
*any gen
Just kidding, sort of. There was a brief time during 360/PS3/Wii gen that the 360 was the only console with RPGs. Infinite Undiscovery, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia were 360 exclusives (Vesperia just in America). Its nice to see the Playstation console returning to form. That attractive, sexy, RPG form that drew so many of us in when we were young and continues to entice us now. PSX had so many RPGs that you couldn't possibly play all the amazing ones. PS2 con...
Saw a buddy playing the "new expansion" and encouraging me to play with him again (I played/paid through the first expansion). Guess what he was doing... a venus strike that has been around since launch. Man they sure changed the game!
Destiny has a solid game hidden beneath a shallow, painful grindfest job. The mechanics are great, the shooting and movement feels solid and the pvp is fun/competitive. But how many times can you do the same bullshit strikes/patrols a...
Only Gen 1 Pokemon featured, but they were the best anyways so no big.
I felt a weird sense of loneliness when I completed the Witcher. Geralt's life returns to that of a wanderer with no one around him. It was an amazing game, but I felt a strange sense of longing for the past of the game.
Radiata Stories... that game was incredible. It had some features that were ahead of its time: day/night cycle, over 100 characters to recruit, every character had a home in the game world (something about having an apartment to return to and save just seemed awesome),and a big decision somewhere near the middle of the game that leaves a COMPLETELY different storyline following the choice. One of my favorite RPGs to come out of the PS2 era. Anyone who skipped this game when it came out, do yo...
My account is at least six years old and I didn't get anything. I've had plus since it was first a thing.
If you have a decent computer, Dragon Quest VIII is one of the most upscalable games from the PS2 for emulation. It looks beautiful in 1080p.
Megaman Legends was amazing. It had so many cool things to do on the island, fun fights and upgrade mechanics, a progression of the world... A double port of 1 and 2 would be the greatest thing I've heard in a long time.
I won't even finish a two hour movie if it sucks, let alone sink 100 hours into a "boring" game. Destiny is a lot of fun, especially with friends.
Very poorly written article.
Claire was not in Resident Evil 1. She made here first appearance in 2 unlike they say in this video.
Been on this site for ten years or so, but thanks!
