In certain instances the previous gen version run better in back compat mode depending on your preference so the option certain would be good.
Quick resume definitely break barriers in the way you generally play games. Stuff like better graphics and faster loading to name a few are all quality of life improvements much in the same way quick resume is. I certainly wouldn't deny the existence of the feature to the PS5 simply due to it being such.
IMO both systems are flawed in the way they execute downloads according to the system you are using. The PS5 takes more effort whereas the Xbox just works. The issue with the Xbox and games that support smart delivery is that it won't give you the option to download the previous gen version if you so wish. It would be nice to have the option.

While I agree that this practice should be banned, you consented to it when signing up for the service as it's clearly stated before you finish the process. So you ranting on about them charging you without consent after the term is false. You agreed to be charged after the fact from the begining when you signed up.

I'm guessing when you pre-ordered (yes you've said you pre-ordered) you knew of all these features beforehand even though people were only finding that out after receiving the console. I would love to be like you knowing everything which you must have found out about from going to the future. I really envy that.

That's quite normal actually. You buy a product for a particular thing you like/ interested in about it but the extras it can do come as a bonus to you which wasn't the reason you spent your money on it in the first place.
This was documented so may times I thought most gamers knew this by now, especially those interested in the console. There are several videos on YouTube from launch of the console back in November with several others popping up over the past months showcasing this.
I think you are confusing Games with Gold with Xbox Live Gold, which was there long before PS Plus. But you are correct in saying GWG came about because of PS Plus.

@darthv72 This is completely independent of the always online fiasco. I think the main issue with the always online were the huge restrictions that applied if you were unable to go online. not everyone have solid connections and also not everyone wants to be online.
I wish a similar system was implemented on the PS5. On Xbox I never worry about my progress since it just syncs across all my Xbox consoles and is something I never think about. I have an Xbox Series X in my living room, an Xbox One X in the bedroom and an Xbox One S at my sister's house for when I visit and all I do is switch on the respective console and play; it's that simple.
I honestly don't know why so many Playstation fans try to downplay this feature instead of ex...

@x_xavier_x That's exactly it. They added enhancements to some previous gen games which I haven't played yet that I've wanted to play so this makes it even tougher. It's a double edge sword in some ways.
It's funny how all these negative commenters are choosing to ignore that this was a preview program. In case you fail to understand what that means, maybe you should take some time off to educate yourself as to avoid making yourselves look like bigger fools.
