I reckon we're all winners at the moment whether you own a 360 or PS3 - you've still got an awesome game to play.

I'm lucky enough to own both, and can honestly say my time is shared between Killzone 2 and Halo Wars equally as I love them both.

More console-specific sites should do reviews for the big exclusives on other platforms - it gives some perspective alongside the games reviewed on the primary console of the site.

Halo 3: ODST is supposed to come with all Halo 3 MP maps, plus the Heroic, Legendary and Mythic map packs,

PLUS

3 new maps that you can't get separately or with any other game.

I reckon Halo 3 has had the most post-launch support of any game I've seen - continuous new matchmaking playlists, special events, new MP maps and updates to fix any issues. Even if you don't like Halo 3, got to admit it's a shame other games don't have the same level of support...

Go to bungie.net and they show the 3 areas of Sandbox. There's a massive underground space to make almost anything, as well as the ground level and then the SKY level (yep, sky level).

Really?!

Thanks for the tip! I'll go and preorder it today.

The new trailer on Live for it is awesome - shows some more large scale stuff.

With this and Killzone 2 both coming out on the 26th, how am I supposed to get any productive work done?!

Well, you know, apart from saving Earth and Earth-a-likes from the various alien forces.

Now I need to see if i can afford the Halo Wars Limited Edition instead of standard edition...

Seriously with killzone 2 and star ocean as well it's like a giant blakc hole sucking all my money up!

Well, an awesome black hole to be fair. =)

He's not an extrovert in any way, but he's up for discussion on games and had strong viewpoints. But he's nowhere near as negative or pessimistic as in his reviews. He said that negative reviews are what gets hits and notice for his videos, so he's decided to focus on the negative aspects of games. It's not that he hates all the games he reviews, it's more he's taken the style of simply exposing the flaws of every game no matter how good.

He's a pretty cool guy though, very suppo...

I've met him in real life as he visited a game project I'm working on and got to say he's actually a great guy.

Despite his constant criticism of games in his reviews he really does support the industry and game development, especially from newcomers to the industry.

Heh tonight at a certain event (can't say what, sorry) he should be there so I'll point him over to this article and see what he reckons. =)

Have you downloaded the demo of Halo Wars and tried it out?

Otherwise, renting is fun!

I'll need to see if I can end up affording it after Killzone 2 and Halo Wars (my first 2 priorities), but I really love a good JRPG. Alongside massive, deep RPGs like Fallout 3, Oblivion and Mass Effect it's great to play something that doesn't require as much of an emotional investment and something you know will make you smile as only Japanese games can. =)

I think it's released March 14 here in Australia, so a few weeks to go.

SHouldn't it be 'this or StreetFighter or Killzone 2 or Halo Wars'? (depending on console owned).

I've got to say, FEAR 2 is definitely not as scary as the first (which itself I don't think was as scary as Monolith's other game, Condemned) but one scene in FEAR 2 in a bathroom freaked me out pretty good.

But despite what some people have said there are some bits that graphically look pretty awesome (think futuristic research facility) but weren't in the demo. They should have had a much better demo imo, because it didn't show the quality of the final game very well.

It was just the thumbsticks, triggers and bumpers...

I find the 360 controller to be by far the most comfortable. It's also a lot more stable in your hands - try holding it with just your left hand and you can still us the stick fine. Try holding a DualShock 3 with your left hand and you can't grip it properly without both hands.

I alos prefer the thumbstick positions. The most common main control in games is the left thumbstick, so why on the dualshock is the d-pad in the natural resting position of your thumb? Similarly why are t...

A way to settle the Gears of War 2 vs Killzone 2 arguements - Marcus Fenix vs Sev!

Though I don't think there's a streetfighter character quite roided up enough to play Marcus...

Bethesda try a full sci-fi RPG ala Mass Effect but with their flair for complete open worlds.

That or a new Elder Scrolls. =)

I can't see any jabs here. That's like saying when Halo introduced its recharging shield because they thought 'it made the action flow better' they were taking a jab at Half-Life and Doom.

Seriously, if you actually work in the business you'll see no matter what platform developers work for they aren't trying to take each other down like the rabid consumers of their games try to make them out to be.

- Valve and Bungie are on great terms.

- Bungie stated ...

Where did they say it doesn't live up to the quality of Gears 2's STORYLINE? read it again people. No mention of Gears 2's storyline being superior.

I think perhaps they might be referring to the beautifully balanced gameplay and cover mechanics. I love Gears 2 and I'm really looking forward to Killzone 2, but face it anyone talking about Gears 2's lack of innovation: Killzone 2 has NO innovation either!

Is this a bad thing? Absolutely not. I think it's equally admir...

You don't know that yet. =) You don't own it. Still 11 days until it's out.

But absolutely it could be the best FPS of the generation. That would be awesome. However, I'm just going on how GamesTM seems to score its games. The best FPS of the generation would still just get an 8/10 if it didn't innovate.

I have no problem with a game not innovating but instead perfecting and polishing the gameplay that has come before to the highest possible degree.

And...

Played about 20 hours?

In the end I got sick of grey and brown. I loved Oblivion (Fallout 3 follows the same blueprint) and loved it, especially exploring with the varied landscapes and beautiful views.

I know Fallout 3 is post-nuclear, but I couldn't stay interested in grey and brown dead landscapes. If you've seen one destroyed mutant-infested building you've seen them all. =P
