maybe i just have a different definition of bad than some gamers. bugs and glitches are never going to go away, so im realistic.

bad is this stuff - unplayable lag, no party system, very few maps, very few game modes, horrible hit detection...the list can go on and on.

these are things that other fps, which don't sell well, have that cod does not (for the most part).

i'm not saying its perfect, but its better than any other alternati...

i hate all the innovation complaints. to me, that just means a game is so well made that the only negative thing people can say is that it's not innovative. where in the gaming community did innovative = great?? cod has developed a tried and true formula, why risk that on innovation when they can just tweak what is already great??

there is a growing cod hatred building...but not because its a bad game, but because its top dog.

battlefield and cod are 2 different types of games within the fps genre.

battlefield is geared toward large scale, vehicle based game...cod is more small team games with little to no vehicle use.

the reason cod sells more is that its more appealing to mainstream casual gamer base, one that has seen rapid growth over the last couple years.

not saying that everyone has money...but it seems pretty easy these days to own both consoles...i mean you can get both consoles for the price of 9 games.

agreed. so many gamers hate on cod for its "lack of innovation." the problem with that argument is that the are comparing cod with previous cod titles...when you get it right once (cod 4 modern warfare), then you don't drastically change that formula until it stops working.

cod doesn't necessarily need innovation because it was way ahead of the game and far superior to competitors.

most other bland fps can't hold a candle to cod. y...

i'm not sure i can scientifically prove this as a fact in any way, but from my personal experience of having all the cod games since cod 4 on both platforms, with the exception of world at war, 360 players are by far better than ps3 players.

like i said i can't really prove this, but i believe it to be true based on my experience.

kz3 was awesome for the first week or two. then it got old. not many game modes, not many maps for those game modes...and if you buy the dlc you can't incorporate those maps into the vote list you just get stuck on that map.

for a supposed system seller this was a let down.

first party exclusives are a thing of the past, as far as a sales tool. online gaming is taking over, and the quality of online service or exclusive dlc/advertising/bundles is far better use of money than locking in exclusives. microsoft has benefited from this trend in gaming, sony has struggled.

amazon discounts are hit or miss. they will drop a relatively new release to $45 bucks within the first month or two of release date, but then in two weeks its back up to like $55. I'd jump on this now.

i'm not sure yet. early reviews killed the game, but after a much needed patch to fix the lag it seems to be an above average shooter, with class based appeal.

ps3 or 360 is the question...better graphics or more players.

the sad thing is that for a cooperative shooter, your better off buying the 360 version simply due to sales reasons. these types of games almost always sell better on 360, and usually by a large margin.

the logic by most of these people is annoying, but typical american. you people seem to think that if gamestop sells the games for more than they buy them used from you that they are a rip off.

news flash - its called business. any business that gives you money or credit for used items is making money off them, one way or another. does that make it a rip off?? not necessarily. sometimes it can be mutually beneficial for both parties.

and for those th...

yes games like perfect dark were fun to play local split screen on, but they also were designed with that in mind.

games like cod and halo are designed for more players than that, and the developers keep this in mind when making levels and game modes. how fun would some of those maps on cod be 2 vs. 2?? pretty boring if you ask me.

offline split screen is great for racing games, but shooters are different. what is so great about games like halo and left 4 ...

i think to some this is just about being a fanboy.

but to others here, who enjoy gaming across all platforms, we realize the implications of having this happen time and again.

smaller studios, smaller budget games - fine, let there be differences.

but to me this is just ridiculous. blockbuster game, major game developer = shouldn't happen. but somehow it just may have.

this explains the exclusive content for ps3 - pretty much rockstar saying we can't do this in hd, so here is to some useless crap add ons as we cross our fingers someone buys the ps3 version.

the problem isn't whether you can actually notice the difference or not, the problem is that there is a difference.

I think this is awesome. I love the people who buy the game new. 60 may be a lot for certain games, which is why you don't buy every game. Online adds replay value to any game, thus buying new shouldn't be an issue. Buy the single player games with no online used.

plus it just seems like everyone is cheap. 60 bucks isn't that much money, and yeah it may be a lot more to some than others, but if you can't afford it you can't afford it. Why does ever...

kinda stopped playing after i picked up bad company 2. maybe i should hop back on if people are still playing.

but i love punk rock. yeah there is some offspring, blink, and the used...but how bout a pure punk rock album of rock band?? throw some less than jake, mest, new found glory...really whoever as long as its punk rock.

heck most of the people that i know who play these games love that genre of music.

i would like to have a sound for when messages come up or when friends hop online as well.

also, i want the entire system to be customizable - by this i mean being able to disable all alerts, or just trophies, or just messages, or just when friends sign on. also be able to have custom sounds for all of them, or no sounds at all for them, or some have sounds and some don't whatever the user wants.

1. not everyone who bought a ps3 uses it for games (i have five friends alone who just bought it for the blu ray and picked up cod 4 but that's it)

2. marketing - why has the average american probably heard of halo but not solid snake? microsoft isn't a marketing genius, but sony sure tries to make them look like one. just imagine if sony hired the apple marketing department. that alone would turn this thing around for them.
