You can't ride off the back of one (waning) title forever. No big loss. Wipeout isn't a system seller anymore. 2048 is proof of that.

not VR but it offers a very wide field of vision apparently.

i believe it tethers to a processing unit by an 11ft cable. This attaches to your PS3. I don't think it uses a battery pack since its alreay wired but I maybe wrong.

Netfront is used because of its small memory footprint no doubt but a customised version of firefox or chrome would be awesome. I think opera did an excellent job with the wii considering the constraints there! The most frustrating thing about using netfront on ps3 is using a dualshock rather than a mouse. Personally i use a keyboard/trackpad combi but I want a Move update Sony!

I don't have a lot of faith in a website which doesn't even realise that. Walmart sold their stake to a Leeds based consortium a year or so ago

no-one is questioning your right to sell your game but the point is the resellers should pay the devs a commission on each resale.

Its essentially a diplomatic answer with a shit-stirring twist. Rather than proclaiming platform parity like every other multiplatform developer would. He proposes both possibilities are true
ie. X360 and PS3 are more powerful than each other
thus avoiding his product sounding like its made to the lowest common denominator - which is probably nearer the truth. Genius there carmack, nicely played.

One of the most impressive titles on the wii this even in sd. I cant quite believe they got an expansive open world like this running on wii.

5078d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

a simple way to improve wii image quality is to use a 4:3 aspect ratio. Max wii res is 640*480 regardless of aspect ratio. Trouble is 640*480 is a 4:3 aspect vga resolution. So viewing in widescreen you are effectively stretching the output image horizontally and exacerbating the aliasing problems SD games without AA have.
I have the vdigi wii vga cable outputting to an old fashioned 4:3 CRT( no shitty LCD/Plasma scaling needed) and the image is glorious, I cant go back to connecting ...

Obviously the telly will become out of date but all the 3d films/ games you buy will still work on the no glasses tech, so its not a wasted investment buying into 3d. Since TV's were first manufactured they've been going out of date, we've had colour, stereo, teletext,Nicam, Fastext, Trinitron, Widescreen, lcd, High def. Each technology superceding the last one. That hasnt stopped people buying tv's rather than waiting for the next big thing.

theres no consensus that 3d actually benefits movie-making. However i think there will be gaming. There are so many games where sensation of depth and motion through a 3d environment are critical. 3d will help you predict a grenade arc in an fps without needing a tracer line. it will also let you better judge the distance of corners and your approach speed in racers. Because essentially there is an input- feedback cycle in games that does not exist in films 3d will become essential.

i went into a gamestation. took a copy of a new game to the counter, staff replied with some feigned sense of surprise "Do you know this is new?" as if it was such a outlandish concept to walk into a store and take a new item to the counter. He then proceeded to extoll the virtues of buying secondhand. Thats the reason they're going down the toilet, giving you sod all for trade in and then selling them more expensive than you can buy at an online retailer.

The above 5 issues are what spoil an otherwise epic monster hunting game. There is so much to love in this game but so many technical flaws. The Controls and Camera are the artistic/game design problems. (The roadie run virtually blinds you by letting you see only your own backside, which is nice when playing a female character admittedly.) The technical problems (Tearing, Aliasing, Framerate) are more of an issue on the PS3 version I think. MT Framework has been pushed beyond its limits and ...

PlayTV IS a high def tuner. Its just that the UK broadcasting authority decided to switch spec to a higher capacity one in the last minute rendering it obsolete as a HD device. Apparently though a major software update is on the way in the fall for PlayTv. Something to do with facebook i think.

what makes the wiimote tricky with Trauma centre and driving feeling off with a steering wheel is down to doing stuff in free air which wasnt supposed to be done in free air. FPS Gun wielding and Sword wielding feel okay because that was meant to be done in free air. But a steering wheel is normally attached to a dashboard. Importantly with Okami a brush is used to paint on something solid not in empty space.
