More than half of this opinion piece is just the writer gushing about Lies of P.
I unfortunately gave this a click too.
In the writers own words:
"This is unabashed Lies of P propaganda."
Are you implying PC games weren't good until MS/XBOX started putting their games there ? Are we ignoring every game that was available on the PC before they started to give a sh** ?
Would be nice. Would also be nice if the demo hit PC/PS5/XBX simultaneously for performance comparisons.
Mega Man legends 3. Never forget.
Whatever interest gauging they're doing is meaningless, they could be promised million in sales and it wouldn't be enough "interest shown".
Outside of paid 3rd party exclusives (that'll end up on other platform(s) anyway), ive yet to see a compelling reason to own a PS5. Where are the games that can only be played on the PS5 ? Where are the new IPs ? Ive seen nothing but sequels, remasters, remakes and a very unhealthy obsession with the The Last of Us and former past successful IPs (Horizon, Spiderman, Tsushima)
And don't give me the "convenience" speech, if you wanted convenience, you'...
I get that part, guess im just a bit selfish. I always prioritize framerates over resolution, despite mainly keeping my gaming to consoles, where framerates might be considered less important as long as they hit a consistent 30fps.
What about A.I. framerate advancements ? I'll probably not touch 4k for atleast another decade or so.
Eh, id use "piracy" as an excuse. You can't play backups on a PS5 or XSX. Yet.
But on a PC, with a far wider reach, larger userbase along with more stubborn hackers than the console space.. .....you see where im going with this right?
Silence is compliance. Voicing and raising awareness is, in fact doing something.
@Obscure_Observer
Random twitter posts of small random bugs and miniscule polygon count in small random objects (existing in around 90% of video games out there, even if you weren't forcing it to happen i might add), always a good sign of desperation and worthless attempts of FUD.
You seem awfully obsessed about Sony and Playstation fans.
Why are offline modes for online only games so rare ?
MMOs i get, but surely a game as compact as a FPS/TPS/(shooters in general) with objectives to fulfill could have an offline option with bots shipped day one. Instead the only times offline "might" be considered is if there are issues with whatever online implementation you're using.
Can't the same be said for all video game companies and/or companies with video games as one of it's main pillars ?
Ultimately, it's about making money. No one is in this for free, praise from gamers and consumers hardly matter if you're not selling and they're not buying.
@crazyCoconuts
My hope is that the devs would rather learn to adapt to a new engine than allow themselves to continue being screwed over by Unity. I do wish the devs affected by this land on their feet but at the same time i would like to see Unity crash and burn for doing this.
I would just like to inform you all that this comes from the same person who wrote:
"This 2008 emo ‘masterpiece’ makes Spider-Man 2 totally redundant"
Not at 30 fps it isn't.
And there you have the problems with success, miliking it to death. A damm shame their engine is stuck for only two IPs when alot of smaller new AA games with wide a variety of different genres could be made. Instead you're stuck with a 3rd person ass creed-esque action adventure game and a 3rd person exploration TPS. What a waste.
Uhhh they have more than enough money to buy out Sony if they could and wanted to.
I sincerely doubt they care too much how well starfield does, only that it benefits game pass and the increase of subscriptions.
One could argue knowledge and expertise in certain fields is more valuable than a GAAS or two. Especially since we're closer to an all-out digital future for each year that passes.
Makes sense, not like an offline single player session needed to be monitored for offensive material or cheat devices.
