IF done right this could totally rock. Imagine CTF with levels you need to climb and traverse in order to get to an objective. How awesome would it be to snipe someone while they are swinging from rope to rope or jumping from ledge to ledge. I could totally see this breaking new ground. There are so many cool things that could be done to make the experience unique. I would be cool with just 4v4 or 6v6. Keep it from being a frag fest but still intense.
Peter Dill is one sharp guy. This is one of the better "handled" Sony interviews I have ever read. I like his tone. Its not patronizing nor does he shove his views in your face. He acknowledges the other side and simple responds accordingly.
On the matter of price. It is like some have said a matter of perception. When I got my launch PS3 for $600 I perceived the value in it, not to mention the fact I luckily had the money (I was so pumped for GT5 and MGS4 that I got 2 ...
Please have gt5 info... please.
MvsC was amazingly fun. I do not even like fighting games and I thought that game was awesome. Would love to play as Colossus from X-men and get some fast ball special on.
There are some great boss battles out there but in my opinion nothing comes close to the MGS series, nothing. I did not quite cry but my eyes teared up and my face got red playing (watching) the ending of MGS3 and MGS4. The graveyard scene at the end of 3 reminded me of the ending for Saving Private Ryan, which did actually make me tear up.
To confirm, Amar is an extremely trusted and credited source on GTplanet. Every single bit of info he has posted has always turned out to be true. In fact he all most lost his job when he revealed the F1 car a couple of months ago. This is anything but speculation. This is the deal, GT is the most recognized, best selling, highest reviewed, most adored, racing series ever made. Whether it meats our expectations is not in question it is how much will it obliterate our expectations.
I have said it once and I will say it again, do you have any idea what kind of PC you would need to play GT5 at all, let alone on the highest settings? Answer, the kind of PC few people have. GT5 is optimized for the PS3. If people thought Crysis was unoptimized then watch out. This kind of move really makes no sense and only further delays the release of GT5 which is bad. Honestly I really think this whole multiplatform spiel is referring to the PSP and not the PC. It will probably be undert...
I got KZ2, and I have no idea why anyone with a PS3 wouldn't, but yeah I actually expected more sales. MGS4 has really been the only PS3 game to significantly spike sales. Not trying to be super negative here. Its not like this is the end or something just a constant reminder that these are hard economic times. Lets hope GT5 can pick up the slack like it has for the past 2 generations of Sony consoles. If there is one game that can spike PS3 sales when nobody has any money it is GT5. Some peo...
Super meh. Looks like all the other licenses were taken up by other companies and CM could only get V8 touring cars. ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz.
Funny this just looks like another copy of GRiD. Oh wait a minute... lol anyways. I have to say Shift looks better than this. I guess this game will appeal to people in Australia and that is about it. Looks like CM could not get any licenses for any other types of racing. If this game has the same physics as GRiD its a pass from me. Sorry to be so negative...
Do you have any idea what it would take to run GT5 on a PC? First off all I assume it would not be very optimized since PD is a console developer. It would probably be harder to run than Crysis. How many people have 4k+ gaming rigs? Not that many. As a GT fan this news worries me because if it is true then PD will be distracted from releasing the PS3 version thus FURTHER delaying its release.
well if you liked GRiD then you will hate Race Pro. It is a very challenging game and is also only to be played with a wheel. There is no point in getting a 360 just for Race Pro (its good but not great. A solid B). Forza 3 pay prove to more to your tastes as it will be more similar to GRiD. Personally GT5 is what I am waiting for... man its hard.
I must say if this turns out to be Race Pro + NFS I will be stoked! GRiD really let me down in the physics department and waiting for GT5 is so painful. Hopefully Shift will prove to be a quality title.
GT5 is going to come out when PD is ready and no sooner. Dates are meaning less. PD does not set dates like other companies they set goals and how ever long it takes to accomplish those goals is how long it takes for the next GT to come out.
GT is the second highest selling video game franchise for a console EVER (second only to GTA). GT5p, a huge demo, sold millions. That is all I have to say.
I am sorry but do you have any idea what kind of rig it would take to run GT5 on the PC? Answer the kind very few people have money for. How many people have 4k+ gaming rigs? Sure maybe not Crysis level but not that many ticks below (or maybe it would take something greater). GT is one of those games that always pushes the hardware its on and while the PS3 is far weaker than high end PCs GT5 is optimized for the PS3. Moving it over to the PC and then optimizing it for the PC would take a RIDI...

Please God let this game be good so the wait for GT5 is less agonizing!
Well considering this generation is referred to as the Playstation Generation (meaning more the integration of media and games into our lives) I think the whole technology industry would be different. I think the innovation in games would have progressed slowly due to the limited audience. I think there would be a lot less interactivity in the tech we use today. If you think about it without Playstation the whole world would be different. Think about all the industries video games touch: movi...
If this game end up playing like GRiD I will be greatly disappointed. GRiD seemed so cool but when you actually played it, it put me to sleep. It was just far too easy to control a 600hp le mans car. The fun of GT and Forza (to some extent but not as much as GT) is the challenge and the driving physics. So if they are not looking to mirror that then what are they doing? Step it up a level to PC sim, sure you loose the graphics but the cars are even more challenging to drive and as a result ev...
