The PS3 already has 512MB of RAM.
It has 256MB of GDDR3 and 256MB of XDR.
It just means that with 512MB of XDR, you may get a extra few FPS here and there since XDR > GDDR3.
I personally think this is good news.

I feel MGS2 was probably the best in the series.
As for MGS3, I wasnt looking forward much to playing in the Jungle either, however its a really good game once you get used to it.
As for camera problems, well, they have been fixed in MGS3: Subsistence. A option to turn the camera to focus onto the character just like in online mode was made availible.

Oh, and HD-DVDs are not cheaper to manufacture than Blu-Ray discs.
Blu-Ray discs require little more than a DVD to produce.
