The hard drive and HDMI. ALthough games look fine with software rendering to 1080p through an analog cable, HDMI is digital and offers finest quality. Is this a boon to those who have HDMI, yes although the amount of people with HD TV's who have HDMI are in the single digits versus overall. The digital connection would be nice as it allows top performance at 1080p currently and component or VGA with high refresh rates, and high levels of detail should not be used above 1080i.

The biggest franchises for PS2, FF, MGS, and GTA were 3rd party, as were many of the successes on the original xbox. I'm decent at economics, but won't pretend to know why its so expensive over there in the UK. Can someone from their fill me in if he's on the money with the causes? Is it simply a huge importing tariff rate? Is it an extraordinarily high tax rate? Combination of two? Or is it markup by companies selling their products to your retailers? Simple fact: Sony has a much larger 1st party development support. They are betting on these titles to bring the bang to the party, as they don't like having to give in to companies like was the case in GTA....
You will see games coming out for both machines that blow Gears of War away in the next year, or two. Mass Effect is supposed to be one for the 360 as I'm sure Ninja Gaiden 2 will, and of course I wouldn't ever discount the Bungie Team, on the xbox side of things. As for the PS3 you know MGS4, The Final Fantasy team, and some of those developers working on those 3 new IP's for PS3 will top Gears as well. lowered its price because they knew the complaint about the large controllers, and that they had the smaller controllers coming. It pee'd me off quite a bit since I bought mine shortly before the release of smaller controllers and ended up with a bunch of big ones no one would play with unless we were short at lan parties.
