This writer must just not like to be entertained with quality gameplay and narrative. A 2/10 is absolutely ridiculous for this DLC pack.
I agree. I see some of the lower scores for it on here (someone gave it a 2/10) and I say to myself, "They must not like being entertained by good content."
Yeah, it was spoiler heavy. But Bioware games are so heavy on narrative it's hard not to detail the plot to some extent. My own review spoiled about the first half and then teased the 2nd half.
Very good and fair review. I agree in principle with many of the author's points.
I don't know. I think some people just hate DLC on principle and thus judge it more harshly. Same thing with people who bash one console over the other without having ever played something on the console they "hate." A good game is a good game. Good content is good content.
Really good and fair review. I really enjoyed this DLC pack a lot and think it fits in well with the game's overall narrative.
It's worth picking up at only $7. You're getting about 2 hours of content that fits well within the game's narrative.
I totally disagree with the author's opinion on this one. The locations were all new, not retreads as he implies. The narrative is pretty strong, and fits well within the universe. And the fact it's a solo mission creates an added challenge without adding new enemy types.
Not just support, but really good content as well.
Why read the article?
@rankftw: It's a 360 version issue only, and it's fixable.
@Bumnut: People who did not preorder the game can still buy the DLC if they want, but it was basically a "preorder bonus" for those that did. He's a decent character and his quests are well done.
I try to make a habit of disagreeing with Jack Thompson as often as humanly possible......
But we don't need a Columbine game. Poor idea to begin with.
It was free w/ preorders.
This was fixed 2 days ago. Delete the DLC pack, then redownload it from your history. Play through The Exiled Prince again and the Achievements unlock.
Whether or not it matters to you, if the story is a negative it deserves to be brought up just like all relevant information. Would you be equally dismissive of complaints of bad gameplay in an RPG?
I'm not sure "delarious" is a real word....
Obvious troll is obvious.
Different sites have different reviewers. Different writers have different things that they base their overall opinions on. Or they may have a different view of which story is better than you do. In either case, assuming that someone is a fanboy because you disagree is pointless.
We gave Halo: Reach a higher score than Killzone 3, but both games had different reviewers. We stand by both reviews.
Just because you disagree with is opinion doesn't make him a fanboy of one console or the other. You're making assumptions about his opinion about a game that's not even mentioned in the review (Halo: Reach). Maybe he thought that had a mediocre story as well.
The biggest issue is when your arms cross behind your back. At this point, the camera cannot pick them up. This is not something that occurs on every exercise, and as such is a minor issue on the same level as trying to use the Wii Mote and Move Controller at the same time as the resistance band or weights....which was explained in the next two sentence in that paragraph that you quoted. This is why we didn't specify a different score for different versions of the game.
Why can't anyone ever complain about bad games? Where's the "Don't make a crappy game like Section 8" articles?
