It will win, and Sony will have GOTY 2 years running:
2008: MGS 4
2009: Uncharted 2
And then Sony will take 2010 with one of these:
God of War III
Heavy Rain
MAG
Quantum Theory
White Knight Chronicles
The Last Guardian
etc.
Gabe "Ass in Two Time Zones" Newell and Activision might actually have to spend time and money learning how to develop for the PS3 now that PS3 is taking off in sales and gamers are less tolerant of half-assed multiplat games.
$60 is too much money for Halo ODLC.
this defective hardware bull ****. I applaud Mr. Jason Johnson. He should start up a class action lawsuit for this.
Man, that's just classic. Silly Bots.
Developers will start making multiplat games that are 8 and 16 bit again, because M$ will allow it, and it will save them from having to actually learn how to make games that make use of the PS3.
Bots can have Gaylo.
It's pretty sad how pathetic the AI is in Halo games. I'm so glad I can play Killzone 2 instead with its awesome enemy AI.
LOL, sorry, bots. Bar was raised with Killzone 2. Looks like M$ and Bungie will have to actually shell out some money building a real HD game engine.
yeah, now that they gimped the game engine enough so that it will work on the 3FixMe and DVD-9, they can churn out games faster than M$ can say "Halo."
*reserved while I go watch*
Edit: wow, talk about underwhelming. The graphics, the script/story, the opening cinematic, and everything about this overpriced DLC screams last-gen.
I honestly don't care how much money N4G makes. What I probably love about this site more than anything else is that unlike the Nazi moderators over at Gamefaqs and Gamespot who have their heads so far up their corporate asses, freedom of speech is pretty respected here within reasonable limits.
The moderators on Gamefaqs and Gamespot are corporate douche bags that only care about moderating offensive posts that might upset their sponsors, which means no one can give their real o...
The more information that comes out about how gimped the game is becoming due to SE's stubborn determination to make the games identical on both platforms, the less interested I become in the game. I may end up passing on the game. Honestly, I haven't enjoyed a FF game since FF Tactics and FF VII, and I still consider FF III/VI to be the best FF game of all time.
I may wait for FF Versus XIII and pass on FF XIII unless SE fixes these glaring issues that gimp this game before laun...
Agreed. This is pretty facepalm-worthy, even for IGN. PS3 is still kicking the 360's ass in total, aggregate sales in Japan despite this, and PS3 is only going to WTFPWN the 360 in sales in Japan even more once the PS3 Slim is released.
My PS3 has a 1.5 TB external hard drive hooked up to it, and I'll soon have the option to upgrade to a 2 TB hard drive if I wish. I'm also going to be picking up Gran Turismo 5 this year, so honestly who cares about Forza 3?
Agreed. As for the article, anyone with half a brain already knew this. Multiplatform developers would rather cut corners and gimp their games to work on both 360 and PS3 than actually spend the time and money to make games that really make use of the PS3's hardware.
...no, not even close.
Mass Effect Sigma 2
Alan Wake Sigma
For PS3, of course.
