HOME it's a form to interact in a more direct way with other users. instead of just hearing their voices you're going to see their virtual representation in full interactive virtual world. because of that even tough the Mii's and the avatars from MS are essentially the same damn thing as HOME, HOME goes beyond that.

yeah mini mario, i could mention games like Dance Dance Revolution for PS2 and games like Little big planet for PS3 that are casual on core consoles.
nintendo presented nintendo for everyone since they started with the nes but looks at the games. nes got games like FF and dragon quest, contra, battletoads, zelda, then the snes came a lot lot of rpg's like chrono trigger and terranigma were out.

the game's graphics almost looks like ps2 quality... it has too many jaggies and flat textures. the character models when they are not fighting they look like Sims characters. i don't even like the art direction thanks to the poor utilization of the unreal engine 3 but at least the battle system seems interesting and the cloth looks good. ;-)
