Halo's extreme hype has caused every other big-name-title that comes out to be referred to as "over-hyped". It's lame. Halo had 34 TV commercials per hour, half a million random toys and products littering the retailers, 2 articles in every game magazine, and a nation full of fanboys. Mass Effect sounds great and has generated some huge hype on its own, but as far as I know it doesn't even have ONE TV commercial... Over-Hyped isn't a phrase I would use to describe it... To say that any of the systems are "on their way out" is absolutely imbecillic. These articles serve the soul purpose of starting flame wars. It's like "shock jocks" who say offensive things about sensitive subjects because there is a huge demographic of people that just LOVE the drama.

I wonder if Sony had a hand in this or what? I mean, if this is solely Wal-Mart's doing, I am confused as to why they would do this. I mean, it seems like a gigantic ass blu-ray push. Sony has to have a big enough hand in this. It's just TOO good of a deal.

Honestly, I don't even consider the Wii in the same fighting ring as the PS3 and Xbox 360. It really doesn't cater at all to the hardcore gaming crowd, especially not to the hardcore gaming crowd over 13. Which isn't a negative comment because it's not designed to. I completely agree with you. These are great commercials, but they need to shine some focus on that game. It has epic visuals and will probably be one of the best adventure games of the year. Aside from the male main character, I think i'll like it more than Tomb Raider.

I've put a lot of time into this game. I like it. I really haven't even had the "bug" problems others have claimed to have. I feel like its a welcome addition to my collection and a worthy game to feed my time to.
Now if they can make a Half Life movie starring Edward Norton I can die happy.
As much as I hate Microsoft deep within my soul, I hope you're right. It's a win for the users. Screw the "who's console is better" stuff. I'm just saying that having DivX support would kick ass all around.

I don't know if you noticed, but when people start arguing over who's console is better on these boards, it's always PS3 vs X360.
