"if we expect it to play like any other game in the series besides its portable counterpart, that we would be disappointed."
That hasn't been my experience at all. It plays like Metal Gear, same stealth against the same sort of AI, same sort of weapons. It's just that you can go to any level (base or outpost) at any time if you want to. I enjoyed Free Roam enough that often I went to locations before the story required me to, so I had some knowledge of the b...
Once again, nothing that was said implies paid DLC...
Nothing that was said implies paid DLC, but the same people who always jump to that conclusion are here doing the same thing again.
@martin - "...the narrative begins to unravel"
Only if you confuse personal preference for the truth, which you seem to do quite often. The fact is PS4 has more games, more exclusives, and a higher rated lineup.
~~The End~~
Entertained? Well I got a good laugh reading the thread about PS4's Communities getting an N4G community. The insecurity on display in that thread is mind boggling.
I've seen too many of these threads to find them very entertaining. PS4 wins in both quality and quantity every time, but the same people pop up and say they prefer something else. It's like watching the local weather report and having it interrupted by people saying their personal weather is different...
@WitWolfy - Congrats that's probably the most ironic comment of the week.
You're trying really hard to make a point, and failing. There was a time when there were more 360 fans here than PS3. As last generation went on, that slowly changed until there were more PS3 fans. Now there are more PS4 fans.
Also, there are communities for those things already, or at least for the consoles. Not sure about PC.
This is truly amazing.
Someone here claimed they created an XB1 community, but I can't believe this question is actually being asked. N4G is bizarre sometimes.
"So I have to deal with this bunch outside of n4g now?"
So Communities are mandatory and this one must be joined whether you want to or not?
Doubtful.
"But wait why does PS get its own community?"
Wow. I can't believe I just read that. Someone on here claimed they created an XB1 community, so relax.
"Well, I mean, you can read the reviews and see what they like about it and whether or not its for you"
Well yeah that's my point. I read reviews and bought the game based on what I read. Did you think I meant I bought based on score alone, without reading anything?
"Buying games blindly just seems prone to leading to significantly more disappointment than properly educating yourself about the game, and whether or not you'll like it and...
"all are waiting for this .....!!!!"
That's silly. The best selling games are only bought and played by a minority of the people who could potentially buy and play them.
"Personally, 'losing faith' in people being paid to give their opinions so you don't waste your money seems quite strange"
I don't see how. I bought highly reviewed games and didn't enjoy them, so I stopped paying attention to reviews once that happened enough times. Why is that strange?
Do you get invaded if you don't invade anyone else?
"…the sad death of the single player FPS"
Too much exaggeration in title. Will not read.
I don't know how many years you're talking about, but I lost faith in critical reviews several console generations ago.
Agreed about the first part. I know people like that. A game that gets a 7 isn't worth their time because they only play the "best of the best". They miss a lot of good to great games that way imo, but it's their time and money and if they want to plan their entertainment based on someone else's opinion, whatever.
Partially agree about the 5 star system, though I have no problem with half stars or even quarter stars. I came to that conclusion after much ...
I liked the ending and didn't expect "closure" from a story that happens in the middle of the overall timeline. I wouldn't say either the story or the ending was "fantastic", but I don't have huge problems with them. I wonder how many people would feel better about the story if it was presented like the ones from the older games...
Repetitive…
I really don't understand that. I'm replaying missions and doing different things just to see what will happen, and it's awesome stuff imo. I find that even doing consecutive Side Ops of the same type can have very different results, especially if I mess around with different items in my load out.
*shrug*
