Hopefully, this will cheer you guys up a little bit :-P
Nice!
:-) Thanks a lot. It is still only 10% into development, and what you have seen is only a fraction of what is planned.
My take on E3 2014:
1) Sony: In spite of the extremely boring and monotonous delivery, Sony showed us a lot of games and services we could look forward to. The biggest theme from their conference was their unprecedented support for Independent developers. U4 reveal was brilliant albeit short (we would have liked to see more). The Order 1886 gameplay demo was fantastic (I'm not so sure why some people are B*tching about this game). Sony demonstrated their dedication and su...
It will be . . . . . ONIMUSHA!
:-)
I have worked extensively with quite a few engines over the last few years, and my verdict is that each and every single one of them have their positives and pitfalls.
CryENGINE is simply a tool for designers and programmers to create whatever they want, and I must admit, the engine is HIGHLY optimized. Performance is beyond what I was expecting.
I do however disagree with the 8gb statement. Why ? Because I am presently running a rather tasking simulation on ...
While it may be difficult to determine the sincerity of the comment, I can confidently say that over the past month plus, the guys at the id@xbox program have made tremendous improvements towards their relationship with developers.
To be frank, i was impressed with how helpful and supportive the team were.
I guess all what Indie developers are looking at is if Microsoft can maintain a good relationship like Sony does with 1st and 3rd party teams.
I think buying both consoles is definitely the way forward.
They both have exciting games irrespective of their internal differences (and similarities).
It's too early to say who is winning for definite and who is loosing seeing as we are less than a year into the new generation, and anything could happen.
In the end, both consoles are selling well, which is good for the gaming industry as a whole.
We are yet to see the I...
RedENGINE 3 is brilliant. It's just a shame it's in house :-(
Absolutely. It is one of the most capable solutions available to the public.
I guess there is quite a lot of misconception about the actual engine and its suitability for game development.
When you weigh in all the factors, it just ticks quite a few boxes with ease.
This is not just about its graphical prowess, but more about the tools available, and how intuitive they actually are.
It isn't perfect in some areas, but the...
Ah right, my apologies. I was under the impression they did own them.
Imagine having Killer Instinct exclusive to the Wii U ?
That would have been pretty sweet!
They should have never sold Rare.
By doing so, they lost Killer Instinct.
Onimusha series.
This is actually very good news.
Developers that milk their fans to that extent will drive the industry into the concrete eventually.
Keep things fair, that's the best policy :-)
Shenmue literally defined QTE's.
I guess If Nintendo open up a little to gamers and developers, they should be fine.
New I.P's are most definitely needed.
I didn't say it wasn't real, I was just looking at it from a development perspective.
The Idea sounds good, but a couple of things stood out to me immediately.
1) To use the full power of the PS4, you need programmers that are on the same Calibre as the ones at Quantic Dream, Konami, Santa Monica Studios e.t.c. With the exception of Konami, basically first party studios have a better chance at utilizing the full power of the PS4.
2) The Corporate page asks for C++ programmers. If the full power of the PS4 was going to be utilized, there should...
Hmmm the title is very interesting :-)
