..it had nothing to do with the fact that the game only had "local" multiplayer. U.S. could only play with U.S. players Euro with Euro and Asia with Asia- boring. Plus the game is rather lackluster when you play by yourself so, if no one bother to play it in Europe and Asia then getting a game going there was probably a pain.
Does this really have to do with video games? Its the smallest part of the story and just seems like another obscure way for the media to connect violence and video games. The game they were arguing about could have been Katamari Damacy or Viva Pinata for all we know.

Totally agree. Not because I don't have LIVE and not because you can boost to get them or a certain game is to hard. It's simply because some games MP modes are less the desirable (i.e., they suck) and/or no one plays them.

You cant get purchase new copies of say "Call of Duty" straight from Activision. The distributor buys in bulk, then they sell in bulk to various stores. There are so many franchises that I have fell in love with because I've purchased used, borrowed or rented. I bought a pre-owned copy of Call of Duty 2 and went on to purchase every COD title since then. The same can be said for Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, Mercenaries, GTA and so on. ..I loved Metal Gear Solid 4. Sure it was great it was all on one disk but the time it took to load then install all that content made me wish I just could have switched disc. Swaping disc is not the worst thing in the world and I can see Capcom being a little long winded on the narrative with the next installment of Lost Planet. And really, in the end, its all going to be about the multiplayer anyway.
