It is good to give people the option and provide models ranging from basic to advanced but of course MS's idea behind it is to get your kid a $299 basic console for Christmas or birthday and then have the kid whine for days till you finally give in and buy the Wifi and XBL so he/she can play with friends....

Might as well just get the $400 80GB + $104 250GB 2.5" and pick up some used games at Blockbuster or EBgames :/

Other then that here in Canada all Microsoft has been doing is gears2 and the Nvidia "the way it's meant to be played" style ,multi platform games with Xbox360 attached at the end...
Sony has realy picked up and has been all over the place in the last month with their ps3 exclusive gam...

I doubt there are a whole lot of people that pick a version based on these minor differences.
It is more likely that someone owns both consoles ,already has one favourite they buy all games for ,and keep the other around for exclusives.
You might be right though ,but I personally read something like this more as another bs "mine is bigger then yours" article.
I am a tall person with large hands, for me having the d-pad up top is much easier to reach the left directional.
On the microsoft controler I have no problem hitting up/right/down but left is a bit more awkward.
The analog pad in that location is much easier because I can just place my thumb on the right most side or even hook my thumb over the edge to move it left.
Why would sony not want Microsoft making money for them ?

Obviously if you have a keyboard that you are happy with this is pointless but I personally will be getting this because I rather not sit on the couch with a bulky keyboard.
It looks awesome but the gameplay confuses me ,I can imagine that running for hours can get pretty tedious.
Gave me a bit of an Assassins Creed feeling , also was fun for a couple of hours.
Ps3 price is totally reasonable for what you get in quality and functionality.
If Sony is comfortable selling it for $400 then I am too.
I see no reason to drop it just so people on the net can scream at each other about how well "their" console sells :/
I only have one console so unless I go look at these videos I wouldn't know the difference in texture sharpness.
The one thing I would see as a sinlge console owner and don't need a video comparison for is those horrible shadows on the 360.
No mater if is was on the ps3 , 360 , pc or all of them ..those shadows are disgusting.
It takes me longer then a game install to cycle through all the stuff I have installed on that thing and I still have 170GB unused space.
$69.99 upgrade is all it took.

I haven't played a tombraider since tr2 but I'm not sure it belongs in a must avoid list , does it ?
