Consumers run the market, not Sony or MS....You can make all the cool products you want but if they dont buy then you die........
And noone at this point is seeing the benifit in either format, or atleast not enough to claim victory for either side.

There is a small difference between HDMI and component....Along with 1080p, you have to be watching a very large screen to notice the difference, Much like your penis.......SonyBoy

11.1 - Keep up man, HD-TV's are in over 35% of homes now
In the US. By the end of next year it will be in around 55%. Over half of American home will have a HD-TV next year.

Thats what they have been saying for years now, next year next year....
i have had a HD set since 01....they said the same thing that year too.
Consumers control the market.

It all comes down to one thing. HDTV's are not common place in american homes, no matter what they think. And without the set neither formats do squat. No matter which one is better, or has more features.
Consumers have the control, and if 7 people out of 10 dont have an HD set then the sales for DVD's will always be higher, no matter who tries to push their format on who.

Now from the floor we would like to welcome "enter name" from Sony.
"ah yes we have figured out that we need to produce more games for our console, and instead of bloating about our "specs" we should make games that walk the walk.
"We would like to thank you for purchasing our "Blu Ray", ah I mean PS3 gaming console. There are plenty of games coming, just not this decade.
"But hey at least our console doesnt over heat, oh wait ...
