It all comes down to one thing. HDTV's are not common place in american homes, no matter what they think. And without the set neither formats do squat. No matter which one is better, or has more features.
Consumers have the control, and if 7 people out of 10 dont have an HD set then the sales for DVD's will always be higher, no matter who tries to push their format on who.

Consumers run the market, not Sony or MS....You can make all the cool products you want but if they dont buy then you die........
And noone at this point is seeing the benifit in either format, or atleast not enough to claim victory for either side.
