The max bitrate on 802.11g is 54 Mbps if I'm not mistaken. No one's broadband connection has a high enough bandwidth to saturate that (at least for most people in the US). So what's the point at this stage of buying an 802.11n receiver (or 802.11n router for that matter). Can someone with some technical knowledge please explain? Thanks!
I'm pretty certain most of these are CG subjects on photographed backgrounds. The lighting, textures, and modeling look wayyyyy too good to be CG. Just look at the trees in the first living room shot, or the water in the boat one.
Well, we know where the reviewer stands on labor unions...
You know 1080p is 1920x1080, right? Pretty close to 1900x1200, just a different aspect ratio. I'm pretty sure all computer monitors are progressive scan (assuming the monitor refresh rate is 60hz), but someone chime in if I'm wrong.
I curse every time one of those dream memory sequences comes up!! I feel obligated to read them because I don't want to miss part of the story, but oh my f-in god, so much damn reading!!
I know this is off topic, but if it's out of 10 and you're using precision to the tenth (the first decimal place), you'd round to the nearest tenth, which for 9.25 would be 9.3. If you were to round to the nearest one, then it would be just 9. Right? Please explain if I'm wrong, I must know if I've been living a lie since third grade!!!!
Wow, that was nerdy...but I got the reference.
Sh!t, I'm nerdy!...
Versatility != Simplicity. Especially in C's case :)
Not worst RPGs. Worst RPG plots. And Final Fantasy Is plot is pretty cliche. Of course it came out in the 80s and was one of the first big RPGs so you can't really blame it. As for the movie, he was saying that you shouldn't expect a movie based on the first game's story, not any final fantasy movie. Oh, and that movie's plot sucked too :)
I think it's a little steep. You're paying 2/3 the price for not 2/3 of the game.... I love Gran Turismo, but I think I might wait for the full release, I just hope it's out this year.
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe each SPU has its own cache that it can use for computations
I'm gonna disagree with you too. I'm sure Gears 2 will be good and I might get it (I'm tired of FPSes though), but I don't think it will 'slay' the ps3 like a 'slut'. Who goes around slaying sluts anyway. Angry pimps? Anyway, as you mention you're only expressing your opinion but so are those that disagree with you :)
Edit: Sorry, TPS. Anyway, tired of shooters.
You hit the nail on the head, my friend :)
Cerulean Sky may have a point, but for the wrong reasons. I'm not going to claim to know the development strategies of Capcom, but the game could have potentially been better if developed for a single platform since more time, effort, and resources could've been poured into a single version. With a lot of devs confirming that the PS3 is a bit of a beast to develop for and that to really take advantage of the PS3 hardware, code must be optimized to take advantage of the its architecture, it'...
Wish I still had my Genesis and Sega CD :( Sega CD was the worst 200 bucks I spent, I got it at the end of its life and only owned the included Sewer Shark game. Oh well, those live FMV cutscenes were sweet! Haha!
The first Soul Calibur was on Dreamcast. However, Soul Calibur was a sequel of sorts to Soul Blade on the PS1, which was the first game of the series. Also, Soul Blade was known as Soul Edge in the arcades before coming to PS1.
Not bashing the game at all (I love GT), but anyone else notice that the course layout in the video is exactly the same (or really close) to one of the Rome courses in the previous games (definitely GT2 and probably the later ones too, I just remember 2 the best since I played the hell out of it).
I believe there have been examples of 4D on PS3 already. Not in any games yet released, but remember the 4th dimension is time, so any textures or polygonal forms can be procedurally generated as a function of time. There were some examples I saw (some decaying bathroom scenes - unscripted, procedurally generated) but I can't remember if they were running on PC or PS3. If they weren't running on PS3 I think it was implied that they could or something to that effect.

Skerj, please tell me what movie that quote is from! I've been struggling to remember for years!!!
Ahh, you're right. It looks like it's about twice the range according to wikipedia. Thanks!
