That stinks but with a 68 average critic rating on their games probably made it difficult for people to invest considering there is a bloat of games getting made these days.

Pure turn-based games seem like a thing from the past when devs were trying to do something more cinematic but could not.

Xbox future is to publish everywhere. Microsoft will follow their mobile and office software playbook to be successful.

The multiple PC store launcher conversation is lame but if the store provides cross buy then by all means go for it.

Paying extra for early access has been around for some time now. Microsoft has been doing this with Games Pass, they say that all games are available day 1 with Games Pass. However, that is not actually the case as many titles are sold sooner with a more expensive option being the ultimate or limited version as was the case with Starfield. EA is also guilty as is Sony and many others. Paying extra for TRUE day 1 has become a staple already and no one is going to put that genie back in the bot...

Nothing it was never actively being worked on according to sources at EA. It was barely a glint in some dev's eye around the launch of DS1 Remake but that failed to make money. So its time to move on to possibly brighter pastures.

These games are produced for the most part at multiple million to trillion dollar companies. How about they be fiscally responsible with scope and budget so they can pay the developers better. It is not the consumers responsibility to bail out failing business plans.

Makes sense many users piled on at the beginning for very cheap. Cannot imagine that selling Games Pass at a loss helps Microsoft to pay for all the development and not to mention the cost of having to earn back the 70 billion it spent. The free rides are probably going to slow down with most likely a price increase coming in the next year or so especially once they merge more of Activision's content into Games Pass.

Michael Pachter is known to be wrong much of the time. Now if he would have said that these companies spending 100s of million of dollars is untenable in the continued production of exclusives at is believable. However, exclusives will always exist in one form or another has it is what makes any platform or service special. The idea that everything will consolidate into one standard vanilla platform or service goes directly against capitalism and the business of selling video games.

HDCP is more for Film and TV odd that it would affect game titles but worth a try even if it turns out to be a placebo.

Probably not the big issue that its made out to be as this game like the first is a walking sim that dose not rely on pinpoint action responsiveness. Its a beautiful graphical experience that is more of a linear filmic progression.

Probably included GAAS titles which skews the data as they are evergreen and get constant updates. So while old in date of release wise they are new in content.

Maybe with 7 games deep with the same basic structure it might be nice to mix up the formula. But then again people seem to love it so given them what they like isn't all bad until it is.

Sounds Legit.

Just like the other business lines that Microsoft runs it will end up placing their games everywhere. While Games Pass service will be the main access point they will still produce a console but it will no longer be necessary to access games.

Sony does not own Square Enix nor control how they make their games. Investing funds to have games produced exclusive for PlayStation users is not equivalate to first party production.

There is a misconception that magically the large mobile gaming audience that is trained on free to play and 99 cent games will up-convert to spending $10-15 a month renting or spend $70 on title purchases. The fallacy comes in this thought that the upper cap of 300 million core gamers that make up the engaged gaming market can exponentially grow. The mobile audience will not enroll in the numbers necessary to offset the costs that Xbox is incurring to produce the games core gamers want to pl...
