It's on PC.... KB&M though, no controller support yet which is what's holding me back.

I'm really not sure everyone throwing all their eggs into the UE5 basket is a good thing. The engine looks impressive no doubt in tech demos, but until I see a game using it running at 60+ fps on console I will remain unconvinced it's the best fit when prioritizing performance over visuals. I REALLY don't want a return to the days of 30fps being the standard on console.

None of that would be hugely surprising, except the FF9 Remake which would be freaking crazy.

All good points, although I wonder if the adaptive triggers and haptics may well prove to add more to most experiences than finger tracking.
Also while lighthouses are indeed superior to inside-out tracking, the ease of use and simplicity of setup it provides is a big selling point on it's own, thank God it's just a single cable straight in the front of the PS5, no more stupid processor box with 5 cables!

That's certainly how it reads... if that does turn out to be the case then many people will have to eat their words. Time will tell i guess, I'm sceptical right now though.

RPCS3 is impressive but it's not even close to being fast, accurate and reliable enough to be used as an official emulator on PS5. It would need to be more or less flawless for that.

Microsoft had nothing to "figure out" with backwards compatibility. All of the Xbox consoles use X86 processors and directx, previous generation games just work.

Sony has a MUCH more difficult task in getting BC to work on Playstation as they have used different types of processor over it's history.
PS1, PS2 and PSP used MIPS, the Vita used ARM, the PS3 infamously used the custom built CELL processor and the PS4 and PS5 use X86 (like all Xbox Console...

Well that looked far better than I expected.

Just in the last few days, while playing online I have had quite long conversations with people from various countries. America, Russia, the Netherlands, France, Italy, China, Japan. One thing becomes very clear once you get talking, despite the language barriers and despite the cultural and political differences... when you really boil it down, were all exactly the same.

Absolutely! it was also a time when console gaming was everything in Japan, there was a huge amount of creativity coming out of the Japanese studios in those days.

You're not the only one, but definitely in the minority.

Thing is, the issue is not so much whether people prefer either design, it's about China taking away the artists creative freedom to make a character look how they want them to look.

A Nintendo game that is also a sequel to a huge hit, has an open world and features a glider perchance?

894d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Nope!
The game was released in China and Japan that much is true.
VR functionality was announced as an optional update and was initially going to allow the player to poke and prod the girls but due to the negative reaction from western media this was removed for launch and the VR mode does not allow any form of interaction.

If they'd done one second of research they'd know that the touchy feely part of DOAX3's VR mode was never released.

That's great but they still need to get the Dualsense working on Android, until then I have to use PSPlay (which is better in a few ways anyway).

The Austin Evan's video proves one thing and one thing only, Austin and friends have absolutely no idea how heatsinks/thermal dynamics work.

For them to say and I quote "we know it's not as efficient because it runs hotter" after measuring nothing but the heat being exhausted from the console says it all.

Heatsinks do not magically take the heat from the hot components and absorb it into nothingness, they just spread the heat out through...

My only concern is how poorly a lot of games are optimised for PC these days. It's highly unlikely developers will tweak for the Steam Decks specific hardware so you're basically going to end up with mid range laptop performance which is not enough brute force to run some modern games acceptably now let alone in a few years time.

Serious question. Has VRS actually delivered any real benefits on PC at this point? The only game I have played that uses it is Resident Evil Village and it's absolutely horrendous, it destroys the image quality and only gives a small boost to performance in return.
Do you have any examples of better implementations I can check out?

Microsoft really love using API names for marketing don't they, the PS5 has it's own API's that can do all this stuff as well, it's just that Sony doesn't keep banging on about it.
