This game has come a very long way since launch and deserves all the new players. Rare have done a fantastic job of supporting and improving this game.

It's not an inability to download, it's a feature to not have to download.
You can already download all GP games on your PC or Xbox so this is definitely a feature. The ability to use pretty much every Android device on the market is definitely a feature.
As a gamer, I'm leaving the struggling to figure out to the business people. I'll continue to use GP until they realize it's not working for them.
But why though? The fact that only a few people use the service doesn't mean it's garbage just poorly marketed.
PS Now has 700 games and it's $10 no just like GP. I don't understand why gaming journalists pretend it doesn't exist and why Sony is also meh on it.
Someone please explain to me what PS Now is exactly because it always seems to be ignored when such things are spoken of.

I think Microsoft has been very careful of late to try and put their best foot forward when it comes to their subscriptions. GP and xCloud seem to be a central part of their plans going forward and so they are doing their best to present them as palatably to the consumer as possible.
PS Now honestly from the outside seems like a bit of an after thought for Sony which makes sense because they've seen incredible success with their traditional way of doing games business....
Like Hellblade which was a AA now a AAA for the sequel?
Or giving Double Fine more money to add boss fights into Psychonauts 2?
Or giving inXile more money and time to polish Wastelands 3?
Or the AAA RPG Obsidian is working on? Like that?
