I do remember when the "openness"of the PS3 with its Linux potential was a touted feature among many here on N4G. When they took it away, people here of course defended their JesusMachine...but what did you actually think would happen?
Fact of the matter is, once you open something, even a little, to the coding community...and then close it, its not staying closed. People customize or "hack" cell phones, GPS units, video game machines, you name it. The ...
thats the beauty of this...you will see the PS3 homebrew apps start to pour in from all over; emulators, games, better browser (I hope), better music/video programs, etc.
Thats not possible without what they did.
I laugh at all the kids who are so in love with Sony that they actually feel hurt by this, as if they did something to someone u know. Bottom line is they sold us the hardware, and we can do what we want with it. For all of you crying about Hotz, how many of u jailbreak your iPhone? Root your droid? how is this any different?
Thats up to Sony and their partners to secure their IP, not mine. Don't support piracy, dont go downloading stuff....speaking of which, how man...
These are the CONFIRMED numbers coming from CES last night, as reported by a reputable (CVG) news source.
Also, that is why this is not like the previous story a week ago which was labeled a rumor per N4G rules. That story was derided by many as being false, so here it is presented as fact.
Its just a cool little feature for those with Kinect. For those of you with Kinect, you all know how indescribably cool it is to see your little Avatar mimic your moves in real time, and thats who this is for.
The simple fact that we now have motion capture built-in to our home consoles is just nuts! For those of you that cant see that, oh well.
Sweet! I could care less about getting pirated PS3 games, I just want to be able to run SNES, NES, Genesis, etc., on the PS3!
Huzzah!
For those complaining about the hackers (?!) its up to u if u want pirated PS3 games or not, if they are even available. As far as I am concerned, I own my PS3, which means I can mess with it as I see fit. What if Ford locked down the hood on the new Mustang, would it be wrong to break said lock and make some changes, if I o...
Wow...nice job coming at #3! I really enjoyed Wake; its a game meant to be played on Hard if you ask me, which is what brought some of its scores down...and that it could get a tad repetitive. Its not nearly as much of a thriller when you aren't scared of dying all the time. Music was awesome, especially how it played into the game.
Some of the criticisms thrown at wake were true, since as a third-person adventure game it wasn't particularly revolutionary in its mechanics, but the actual gameplay with the whole using light as well as guns provided for a lot of tense moments in the game.
This was definitely a game to be played on hard; sounded to me like many reviewers played on Normal, which is considerably easier, especially in regards to how strong the dark presence was on some of the enemies, and ...
I still have yet to see this HUGE difference between Forza 3 and GT5 during gameplay. If anything, Forza uses a much more realistic lighting engine, whereas GT5 uses lighting more for dramatic effect.
The simple fact that there is a big divide between 20% vs 80% of the cars in GT5 is something too big to be ignored in my estimation. There is no doubt that some cars are better reproduced in Forza than others, but not to the level of discrepancy shown in GT5. I woudn't w...
As much as I want this to happen its physically impossible, since the PS3 has no HDMI input for the Cable/Satellite box. Maybe with new PS3's that could be a feature. Would be a very smart move.
For the ignorant out there, which seems to be too many, perhaps you are unaware of who actually owns N4G.com...the same people who own...wait for it...CVG. And EDGE.
Mind-blowing stuff...these conspiracies. How deep does it go...
/sarcasm
Whoever said they don't care about slimmer consoles? The PS3 fat is a fat beast (I have one), and the slim is a lot cleaner (if cheaper) looking. WHats wrong with that?
These redesigns are common in the industry, nothing new. Some of you are just too young to realize it.
yeah, my roomies launch 60GB PS3 is hella loud, about the same as my launch 360, but much louder than my PS3, the 40GB fat.
But my 360 with games installed to the HDD is pretty quiet.
Faceplates?! You gotta be kidding me, right? Thats like being sad I cant use my wheel covers from my old car on my new one that has nice rims.
Classic...
You have a dislike for Forza 3, since this is pretty much off-topic, and nobody will convince you otherwise. But trying to convince people that Forza 3 has bad physics? Good luck there.
Is it perfect? Nope. Is it the best yet by a long shot? Yep.
And InsideSimRacing's job was to promote Forza?! Good ol'bias, eh? Yeah, why not. From a small site dedicated to Sim Racing, almost exclusively on the PC. Riiiight.
You hate Forza, w...
All options can be turned off for Forza 3, so yeah. Secondly, your argument is weak since the wheel works beautifully with Forza 3, I have used it myself.
And these guys seem to agree with me...
First, Forza 3 is NOT a year old yet, so you're wrong there.
Secondly, the game being shown at E3 was NOT Forza 3, but a WIP (that could possibly be using some Forza 3 elements for demo purposes)
Wanna go for a third?
Its just a demo folks, no need to worry about so many specifics in what was a working title due for release in 2011.
Which brings me to a funnier note...with Forza 4 (or whatever they call it in the end) looking to release next year, could it possibly release BEFORE GT5? I keed, I keed...
Also, why is everyone ignoring the best part of this demo...HEADTRACKING! Obviously, you could just play this with a wheel or controller, and use Natal...er, Kinect, to he...
Iz very nice...
