Should IW have made it so the PC, PS3 and 360 versions were going to be like the Wiis' along with the graphics AND implemented friends codes on all the platforms would you like that?
No, you'd say the other platforms are capable of so much more so why make it all like the lowest denominator (the Wii in this case)? All the PC people are arguing from that perspective.

@ 2.3: Well said! People forget that Sony products (outside the Playstation brand) have always been pricey but generally have extraordinary craftsmanship and are aimed at people who won't really bat and eyelid about the price.
I also think it's also 2.40. Why else would they need 8 whole hours for 'maintenance'? As people have mentioned before, the network has never been fully down and certainly not for 1/3 of a day.

At the Brighton store tonight one of the employees told me they sold out of all their PS3 sku's except for the GTA4 bundle which is now being sold along with the single copy of the game.
I know that is one store - but it wouldn't surprise me to hear similar stories across the UK tomorrow.
Btw, it's a great game, though I need to progress through the story more to get more venues to take my dates too. ;)
Well like others have stated this is only one supermarket chain but I feel that it will reflect pre-order ratios here in the UK among the other stores too.
Outside of the 'hardcore' gamers, most of those who still play their PS2's will, more than likely, pick up the PS3 version - without a doubt. Of course that excludes those who have already got themselves a 360.
It's looking like GTA4 is going to be a huge system seller - whilst the attach ratio for the 360 game...

How odd, it didn't take me that long either to download the patch. But I have my PS3 set up to a static ip on my router and set that ip to a DMZ so all the ports are open all the time.
Btw, I'm in the UK but I got on average 80-120 KB/s on the P2P service.
A lot of people reported having problems updating the MGO beta but it's running fine for me. Averaging between 80-120 KB/s and I'm already more than 50% done after 45 minutes. Just be sure to select peer-to-peer and open those ports!

Still, I think it's about right considering it's comparable to the UK salaries (which means your dollar goes further than our pound anyway).

Wow, I'm glad I did my research before choosing an ISP over here in the UK. Get Be* (www.BeThere.com). They have up to 24MB broadband AND as far as the users report on the forums and ISP review sites; there really is NO cap.
Of course they 'say' they have a fair-usage policy but loads on this ISP download 100's of gigs of data every month and there is NO throttling! Best 18 pounds you can spend imo! Btw, I have it too.
Well it's about damned time! I was reading about this back before Christmas and I'm so going to buy it for my PS3 when it comes out!
The thing now is that should M$ take out the HD-DVD drive in the new 'ultimate' (which they should after the WB news), all they'll have left is an 'Elite' with a huge HDD.
At which point I think it's safe to say that they may not even announce the 'Ultimate' at all now...since there is hardly ANY difference between that and the 'Elite' except for the HDD (and assuming they do pull the HD-DVD drive from it). The safer bet for M$ at this point would be just to release the HDD s...
