I do agree, especially after his contributions for Vanquish, Killer 7 and The Evil Within. However, he has made a few faux pas in the past, most notably removing Hiroshi Shibata's role as director of Resident Evil 4. I thought having both fixed camera angles for exploration and switching to over-the-shoulder when it came to combat was a genius move on his behalf plus the story direction looked to be much more memorable and may have had the hugest impact on the lore.
It&...
It's easily one of the best action games ever created. Horror-wise........not so much.
This list is a bit iffy to me especially when it comes to one of the most important things in making a sequel, if it isn't broke don't fix it. The reason why people are excited for Resident Evil 7 is because it returned notable elements from it's earliest predecessors not exactly a reboot. If anything following a reboot (Resident Evil 4) is what got the series at it's current low point......
I already downloaded the Yagami theme last night. It's head and shoulders over most of the priced themes on PSN.
Some people do see this as a direct rival to Yakuza and fewer still believe that it's impossible to enjoy both.
The hunt for all of the capsule toys continues.......
“First-person tends to work best in games that are all about immediacy, or that work with a restricted vision, as with horror. Third person tends to promote a slightly more measured style of play afforded by a less restricted view.”
Yeah let's pretend that fixed camera angles never did that at all. Other than that, I fully agree with Jamie Madigan that execution is much more important and neither perspective never had more edge than the next.
I do agree on Transformers, the music was not only phenomenal but really captured the energy of the animated battles of the series during the 80's. I am very surprised that Folklore isn't on the list, a game that is overdue for a sequel.
I say let Konami do what they want. There are tons of other developers willing to take their spot.
Character special training never really gave you any advantages in gameplay until Resident Evil 3 Nemesis and even then the super difficult dodge didn't turn the tides like the "almighty" melee attacks of 4,5 and 6.
It was one of my most anticipated titles especially after witnessing the amazing Dragon's Dogma's combat. To imagine, those battles with Deep Down's engine............gives me goosebumps. The first person options looked to open VR options as well.
Worse than the crash of '83?
I'm looking forward to some gameplay of ReMake 2 and news The Evil Within 2. Agony won me over due to it reminding me so much of the Hellraiser comics and books due to the art direction while Ill be still holding out for Lunar Software to shed news on Routine. Another honorable mention is Daymare..........
Its going to be Devil May Cry 5, the now deleted tweet with Johnny Bosch Yosch and Reuben Langdon in mo-cap gear pretty much confirms it.
I actually have a lot of fun with this game especially when it comes to killing hunters. It is true that it plays similar to Dark Souls at its core but I feel that the layers of new game mechanics more than enough to make it stand on it's own. I'm also hoping that the soundtrack is on sale soon.
The Evil Within didn't flop, Bethesda's VP said it made enough to create a sequel which is great for the fans. But I remember hearing similar threats given for not buying DMC and yet Devil May Cry 5 is on the horizon.
This game really sucker punched on how amazing it was. I was very glad that I took a shot in the dark with Dragon Quest VIII because I still regard it as one of the best Playstation 2 games I have ever played and the soundtrack by Koichi Sugiyama is jaw dropping to say the least.
As a listener of both voice work, I had no problem with either......
I can't really disagree with that In the end, I would love to see more horror games experiment with using multiple views depending on the situation like both games.
Wholeheartedly agree. ReMake was such perfection in not only reintroducing the original to newcomers but adding so much content for veteran fans that it felt like a brand new game. It's easily in my top 2 horror games ever created.
