PS4 era is like Blu-ray era in film industry.
And PS5 is UHD(4k) bu-ray era of that.
Even though PS5 will replace PS4 as a hardware in a few years, PS4 games will not be suddenly obsolete.
Those PS4 games are already looking good enough to last more 5-10 years.
Especially if you play them on PS5 with enhanced resolution and framerate.
So I think backwards compatibility will be more important than previous gen.
I'm OK with it as long as there is also the PC version. Console timed exclusive + PC version later.
VRR(G-sync or Freesync with LFC) support,
Wi-Fi6,
Folding@home for COVID-19
(This is rough estimate. Not to take too seriously.)
For example, if a game set the CPU frequency at 3.5GHz and GPU at 1.8GHz on a console,
A: 1080p 130fps, CPU 80% GPU 90%
B: 1440p 80fps, CPU 50% GPU 80%
C: 2160p 50fps, CPU 30% GPU 90%
in the case C, You might want downclock CPU to 2.5GHz or below, and up the GPU frequency to 2.23GHz.
to keep framerate above 60FPS.
So I think it's good to have variable fr...
We have very little information about next gen consoles and the games. It's hard to talk about the evolution or revolution of game mechanics on it at this stage. But I'm sure hardware advancements will allow developers to come up with some interesting game-changing ideas on next gen as well. I was impressed with the building mechanics of Fortnite on current gen consoles(or PC). Things like that needs larger memory space.
the reason why people tend to care about reso...
People will be impressed by graphics less and less. we will get used to it no matter how beautiful and visually closer to real life as people no longer focus on talking about how awesome the CGI of a movie is.
The graphics of current gen consoles are no longer jaggy, blurry, low polygon count mess. And if you expect 100x graphical improvement over it with next gen, you are set to be disappointed. it is simply an unreasonable expectation.
So, adopting sup...
Sounds really good!
if the features and the deals are realized, those will be significant incentives to purchase games on PS Store.
I will buy a 16GB when I feel that I need it.
yes, this info is taken from Sony's Japanese official web site.
Unless Sony is lying, it is real.
http://www.jp.playstation.c...
they have already announced a peripheral "Portable Charger(PCH-ZPC1 J)" for Vita.
the external charger has a battery capacity of 5,000mAh.
Vita itself has 2200mAh.
so, if you plug it to Vita, you will be able to play games
for around 10-16 hours(3-5 hours of vita , plus 7-11 hours of the charger). ...
A lot.

looks like Japanese PSN is under planned maintenance.
hopefully they are preparing to resotre PS Store.

can't wait!
I think whether NGP is exactly as powerful as PS3 doesn't matter.
if NGP can render graphics which are close to "HD consoles like PS3 and 360"
and the games run smoothly,
the handheld is definitely amazing and powerful enough for great gaming experience.
so, it doesn't need to be as "EXACTLY" as powerful as PS3.
if true, that's nice.
I have always been hoping that sony will make their next hardware much easier to develop games for.
I knew it would happen.
Not to mention the latency issue and poor image quality,
I think this service is simply a waste of internet bandwidth.
And if millions of gamers connected to this service at the same time,
how on earth do the servers come up with the enormously massive processing power required?
impossible. the efficiency is too low in many ways.
well, they should announce the release date after this game is actually released. lol
it's not a big deal to me.
because, honestly, i hardly read manuals.
Some say 30fps is a deal breaker, some say 30fps is just fine.
So it's good to have a few options based on preference.
