It's a look at the "rumors" that have been floating around about the next generation. No where in the article does the author state that Next Generation Systems 'WILL' lock out used games.

It's nothing more than a look at why it would be a bad idea to lock them out.

Besides almost everyone loves to speculate. Haven't you seen nearly everyone and everywhere do so?

Nice article. I just wrote a piece about Day 1 DLC myself. It's amazing that more people are in an up roar over Day 1 DLC than game breaking bugs and disc locked DLC combined.

/sigh/ Oh well. Can't do much about others, all I can do is enjoy my games as much as I can and leave the heavy criticism to others.

Nice article man. I agree with you on it.

I see a lot of posters who base their gaming decisions off of Graphics. If the game in question has what they consider to be bad graphics, they won't pick it up. They also won't pick up older classics that have great stories and game play because the graphics are "dated".

Graphics are nice. They're like eye candy. But without substance, that's all it is. Eye Candy.

Actually Namco Bandai said today that it's not coming to North America until Winter 2012, which starts Dec 21. It could be released before then but with this information about Europe added to the full announcement by Namco Bandai suggests that early 2013 is more than likely.

Sorry but tha...

The only thing mentioned about Europe was a quote from Level-5. As far as the NA release, there's been no concrete word on it's release here. That's why I asked the question.

I also didn't catch the uk portion of the link's address.

I wonder if the 2013 is the full release of Ni No Kuni outside of Japan or just Europe? I thought the NA release was due out this year?

I think Chocoboh was refering to the fact that if you want to play online with the 360 you have no choice but to pay for the service. Where as with the PS3 you can play online without paying for it.

Paying for the online is why I ended up getting the PS3 version of Mass Effect 3 rather than the 360. I will get the 360 version after a hefty price drop so that I can see how the minor plot lines from the first game play out, but otherwise I'd rather play with my friends on t...

No. Sorry I guess that was a bit of an off way of writing.

I turned my 360 on for the first time in about a month so that I could download and play the Mass Effect 3 demo. I wasn't asked to accept any new terms or to download a dashboard update.

I wouldn't keep my 360 on for a month straight. Actually I wouldn't keep any of my gaming systems on for that long. I think the longest I kept a console on was nearly a week straight when I was playing FFX...

I guess the dashboard updates aren't required of all users universally? Just turned off my 360 after downloading and playing the ME3 demo. Turned it on for the first time in a month and didn't get asked to accept or download anything.

Guess I'll download it when I get The Witcher 2 in April.

The Demo is up on the PSN now. Played it on the 360 and going to check out the PS3 version. Great demo!

I love all the articles that compare Ipad and Iphone gaming to gaming on an actual system designed to play video games on the go.

I've yet to find a smart phone or tablet that I had any desire to buy. I've yet to find an 'app' game that had any lasting value.

I've also been amused that people knock the price of the Vita @ $250 but show off their $400+ Iphones that they paid under $200 for with a 2 year locked phone contract or $500 tablets...

No point to picking up any Vita games without the Vita, in my opinion.

My Vita is paid in full already. My Vita game is also already paid in full. I don't have to worry about them being in stock.

Now if only they'd let everyone start selling the systems. What's a week or two anyway?

Not another one of these articles. Why can't the media comprehend the difference between the bite sized arcade type games and actual full fledged video games?

You can't compare the Iphone's library to the library of a dedicated hand held system. They are not the same type of games.

I never switched to the 360. The PS3 was my first purchase. My wife bought me the 360 so I could play the few exclusives that I was interested in.

I don't base my purchases off what others buy, I base them off what I want. I have 2 'friends' on my 360 friend list. I have more on my PSN. Of which I talk to maybe 3.

I'm also a patient person. I don't care if the 360's version of a game gets DLC 6 months before the PS3's version. I h...

I own both systems as well and lean towards my PS3 as a matter of preference. The PS3 simply has better 1st part support.

Not being one who enjoys or even cares for online gaming, it doesn't make sense for me to play most games on the 360. I don't generally notice graphical glitches or less clarity (760, 1080, 30/60 FPS are all irrelevant to me).

But the 360 does have a few games that the PS3 doesn't have and I'll play them on the 360. I have...

Dude prior to about 2000 few games had a story. I lived the 80s and 90s gaming. Mario did not have a story until recently other than Save the Princess. Doom. Wolfenstein. Those are First Person Shooters not Action games. Etc. There was no story in those games in the 90s, it was all about killing and surviving. Mario is a platformer. That's what it's root was and still is.

Story does not dictate genre. To think otherwise shows me that you don't really understand wh...

Game play type defines genre not the story. Genres existed long before games began adding stories. RPGs were the first to add them.

Doom and Castle Wolfenstein for example were FPS long before there was any kind of storyline added to the FPS genre.

Mario and Crash Bandicoot were platformers long before any story was added.

Zelda was an adventure game long before the story was added in the 3rd game.

Today more and more games h...

To start with it's not just 1 game that's been blurring the genre lines. Dozens of games from this generation have been doing it. As gaming evolves it's a process that's likely to continue.

Final Fantasy XIII was an extremely casual game. If you died you started right back outside of the last fight you were in.

Gameplay in Mass Effect was hardly shallow. But to each his own opinion.

If Anonymous has an issue with the US Government, then they need to deal straight up with the Government and their sites. Leave the rest of us out of their bloody fight.

Leave the gaming sites and services alone. Leave the social networking alone.

Do they really think the Feds are going to care if PSN and XBox are knocked out for a while? Or Youtube, Facebook or the like?

Nope. Neither side gives a rat's tail for anyone but themselves. T...

I heard them mention Sony's PSN as well. I was over these guys when I first heard of them prior to the PSN attacks last year. I really don't like them now either.

It's funny you mention that No single company can fight a large collective of hackers determined, but then demand MS to take reasonable security measures to protect your data. If the group is determined to hack, then reasonable just won't protect your data or anyone el...
