Have a sense of humour, guys!
If you read the article the point in the title is pretty clear: sure, of course it's going to do well. But the author makes the point that it may well surprise us by being Nintendo's best game of the year (ahead of Link's Awakening, Pokémon, etc.)
On Metacritic: 51 positive, 30 mixed, 2 negative. Hmm.
...You do realise the review you're commenting on gave it a 9/10, right?
The score's mostly reflective of the issues with the Switch port.
Appreciate your honest (and respectful) feedback. Perhaps 'sandbox' wasn't the correct word. I of course didn't mean it in the same sense that Minecraft is a sandbox game. Perhaps 'playground' would have been a better word.
I tried my best to explain my feelings on the game. I certainly still very much loved it, but the open world became less enjoyable after that mid-way point. If it came across as shallow, I apologise- I did what I could to try and ...
I believe the demo is available on the Kickstarter page to download for free - you don't need to back first. Certainly looks promising!
"Your mum looks like a stripper" - oh god, I forgot that golden line from the trailer. hahaha!
Yeah, payment is region locked, as the article makes clear.
It was reminiscent of 90s platformers but a new IP, so I don't think it really proves anything. I think folk have nostalgia for actual games/characters they remember from their youth.
Yes, which is acknowledged if you'd have read the article!
It's ironic, obviously.
Xbox One - whoops, embarrassing typo! Thanks for pointing it out – now corrected.
And I'm certainly not questioning the PS3's ability to thrive – it did fantastically later on in its life. I'm merely pointing out that at the time of its launch – which was unarguably rocky – it's hard to imagine it'd go on to do so well.
Apparently so! I submitted the story yesterday and it was flagged up as being duplicate so I left it – but somehow it's now been approved. So yes, you get to feast your eyes on the dodgy 'leaked' images all over again! ;-)
It certainly seems to be! Let's just hope they keep on coming.
ba-dum-tshhh!
Haha! Definitely!
I'm sure most people are aware it's a winter sports game. I wouldn't say it's at all wrapped up to be an MMO. Neither is The Crew. Both have social features if you're into that, but for people who just want a winter sports game, Steep is exactly that, and it's certainly not a bad thing.
And please tell what are the snowboarding games that are free with Gold or PS+ every month? Aside from Mark McMorris which released last month to pretty poor reviews,...
Ah yes, damn, Alienation was a glaring omission! We too loved that in co-op.
Touché.
