I don't understand how people can say movie downloads will kill Blu-ray. This is simply an ignorant assumption. Here is why:
1. The world's broadband subscribers are not ready to download a hi-def (even compressed @ 720p) movie file let alone a full 1080p uncompressed image of a blu-ray disc
2. Most ISPs sets bandwidth caps
3. People want a full HD experience. Right now only Blu-ray (or HD-DVD which is in a brink of extinction) can offer such experience
MM team is just pure brilliant. Lots of customization, creativity and fun. The sky is the limit. There's is no game like this. Period!
...that Sony will be here for the long-run. The fact of the matter is PS3 is a true entertainment hub and HD will be taking over and MS knows that incorporating it for gaming is not feasible. You can't compare GoW with this game. First this game is not yet done. Second, graphics is phenomenal in GoW but a lot of the environment is static. You have to take into account that Gear's environment is way smaller than KZ2 as well. Think about it, 2GB alone for a single level for KZ2. I doubt the 360 can even run this game properly with all size of the game, physics, graphics and AI fused together. But then again, this game could only be all hype. Only time will tell if this game is worth...
I agree that a lot of people here are still not satisfied with the price cut. It's not like they've stripped down the 60GB version, it's the same SKU with the same entertainment value and HD experience. $100 drop is a lot if you look it at that perspective.
Talking about HD-DVD being a better buy because of cheaper price is pointless when seeing Blu-ray a likely winner in the HD space.
I still don't see any price drop in Canada. When is this going to take effect? I hope this $100US price drop will equate to $150CAD then a lot of us here will be a happy camper.
I'm sure this new version is not just a 20Gb increase and an inclusion of motostorm. a $100 difference does not justify it. Perhaps as PWNSAUSE mentioned, it will come equipped with a new shockaxis and HDMI cable and whatnot.
Ok, all 3 consoles are great machines. I understand a lot of people are turned off by PS3's high price point. But what new tech that has all the rich features and future proof components doesn't have an initial high price point? People, please be realistic.
