Yep, you're right, IdleLeeSiuLung. This is _just_ traffic for the website running this story; the N4G summary is misleading. From the w3schools.com page:

"W3Schools is a website for people with an interest for web technologies. These people are more interested in using alternative browsers than the average user. The average user tends to use Internet Explorer, since it comes preinstalled with Windows. Most do not seek out other browsers.

These facts indicate tha...

So now you only get screwed out of an activation when your hard drive crashes.

Glad to see they're in. I guess they were timing Jasper for around the launch of the NXE, so that it could come preinstalled. Still don't have plans to buy a 360, but I'm actually considering it for the future now.

I haven't seen any of their marathons since the original Zelda run, where "pizza money" got so ridiculously large they realized they could make it a charity event. :) I see they now have a devoted website and everything, cool. Looking forward to Metroid, it really is a great series.

I was going to ask where the outrage was from this group when Manhunt 2 was in development, but a quick search showed they at least jumped on the "Manhunt 2 drives people to murder" bandwagon later on.

"If a parent doesnt want their kid to play a violent game just don't buy it for them. It isn't some BRITISH groups place to say what games should or shouldn't be on the Wii. The FIRST AMENDMENT people!"

Emphasis added. ;)

I agree though, it's insane to suggest that software should be limited by console. I'm annoyed that even Nintendo has presumed to do so (what with their no AO games stance). It may be their legal right, but as a Wii owner, I would be happi...

That's a parody site linked to above. (It has a disclaimer saying such at the bottom.) Here's the real one:

So, even a publisher realizes that their copy "protection" is doing harm to their legitimate customers more than anything else. Wonderful.

Of course, it looks like Ubisoft is doing its best to just sweep this under the rug. The linked thread has already been closed by moderators.

"He also elaborates on how if one is made in his image it needs bigger biceps and a chiseled jaw."

Claiming that his biceps ARE big would be out of touch, but he's simply requesting that people PRETEND they are actually big and chiseled. I don't see how his comment could be meant as anything but humorous. I didn't laugh, but I'm not about to call him pompous.

I also don't know why anyone would be upset about him voicing his opinion. I may not always agree with him, I don't see any harm in it.

I'm not sure Beau King even read his own text...

"When responding to question about the Avatars he simply says, 'They’re Miis, but that’s fine'"

_He was asked a question._ And he answered. As the public face of Gears, I imagine he gets asked questions a fair amount. What do you want him to do, take a break from...

Yeah, I don't think I've seen any rumors before suggesting that the combo chip would be ready for 2008. Maybe they were able to move it up, but I'm kinda doubtful.

I don't know how you can criticize the 360 controller for what it does. "Too many buttons?" It's just right in my book. Just enough buttons that you can actually use them all. Great, comfortable shape and size, reminds me of the Gamecube, but without the unfortunate buttons. (Granted the 360 D-Pad is terrible, but like others here I'm not into fighting games.)

Sure, you can criticize it for not being a Wiimote, but it was never meant to be. Of the dual-analog controller...

Err, they are still developing new 360 boards, and the latest one, Falcon, seems to have made them better (although still worse than the average consumer electronics). An even newer version, Jasper, will start shipping around August or September this year. Probably the most notable improvement is a smaller GPU. Since the GPUs aren't very well placed and can be the cause of overheating issues, the Jasper could turn out to be a good improvement.

So if you want a 360 for Gears 2, se...

At least, if it is indeed the RRoD that causes your 360 to fail: free repair for 3 years.

But they can't time travel and reverse their decision to rush to market. I imagine their past mistakes will continue to haunt their customers for some time to come, all because they thought it would make them #1. :(

If you are addressing me, FPS nut, all I can do is laugh. The names and even some of the characteristics of the 360 boards are well known, as someone who actually reads the stories linked on this site should know.

The exact failure rates are certainly open to debate, but if you believe the 8bitjoystick insider, even the latest Falcon models aren't quite at an optimal point, although they certainly represent significant progress:
The successor board to the Zephyr, the Falcon, did do some ac...

I'm pretty sure they've said they will remain available for old purchasers to re-download, they just won't be available to new buyers.

Hopefully you are right, 4 player co-op would be awesome. :)

I gotta echo matt1991 here, it sounds like it could be either way. If you listen closely, there's barely a pause, so I think it could be either:

"...the uh, co-op's drop-in drop-out, multiple difficulty settings for co-op players, much more multiplayer modes..."

"...the uh, co-op's drop-in drop-out, multiple difficulty settings - four co-op players, much more multiplayer modes..."

Anyone asked for confirmation, on Epic's forums or som...
